i cant w8 to i going to leave in 10 or 15 days from alabama beckpecking firs to new yourk to a friend and then i will go to new mexico beckpecking i will start in april i hope i make it on time i will be there 1 months before it starts i hope. someone told me alot of people arive so early ald leave verry late juhu.
it will start oficial at the 1 juny and end oficialy at the 7 juny.

something i forgot the gethering will be in a atlitude of 7000 feet someone thinks it will be a problem or something? i dont but some people told me you need some days to aclimate in the atlitude i duno i will se see you there love pace harmony and a nice nice day

Last year in Wyoming the altitude was 9200+...pretty tough for many of us damaged old timers. 7000' will be a good bit easier. Slow and easy is the best way at those heights.

One should be quite reluctant to believe any rumors of exact site location one might hear this early, or, indeed, until toward the middle of the next month that begins with a "J". At this stage of the game, the only thing one can state with any certainty is that the Gathering will almost certainly be in a National Forest in New Mexico. It would be extermely unlikely,but not entirely out of the question, for the site to be just on the other side of the AZ/NM line, or the NM/CO line, if National Forests straddle those state lines. Oltwist, what was the source of this rumor?

^I think those are directions to the Thanksgiving gathering..

The site is not decided on until spring scout council in June, Everything before that is considered a rumor and ignored by most folks.

Did you actually read that? did you notice it said something about Thanksgiving Council? That was a council, not a gathering, that was over Thanksgiving, month before last, not The Gathering, which will be in July, 7 months from now. You might also note mention of "at Frenchy's place". The Gathering is not held at someone's place, but rather on public land, i.e. in a National Forest. I don't believe Frenchy would take kindly to pink tents in his front yard....

If you really want to get a good idea of where in N.M. the gathering will be and you have some time to play, try "armchair scout".

Google Earth the N.M. National Forests and scout from the air. Find the places that meet the Nationals needs (meadows, parking, terrain, water, etc.) and you'd be surprised how close you can come to the actual site.

And....if you find you're really good at and are physically able, the Family can use your talents!

No reliable information more accurate than "Somewhere in a National Forest in New Mexico" will be available until mid-June.
