you're growing weed and you're callling them tricones
but no, trichomes aren't trichomes. when trichomes are clear, they arent ready, when they're getting cloudy that means they're getting closer, and if you decide to harvest at this point your weed won't have as much of a lazy effect, if you let them all get amber you're weed is gonna have more couch lock effect. Wait too long and you're gonna lose potency
edit: never in my history of browsing cannabis forums and pictures have i seen purple trichomes

Wish i knew more about this way of checking 4 ripeness and the idea harvest time. I just harvest when 75 per of the bud hairs or pisils have gone brown....
Maybe some kind hearted soul will share the knowledge an post a write up on the proper way.

get a decent hand held microscope. and it really depends on personal taste on when you should harvest. Like I said before, when your trich's are a more milky cloudy color, you're weed won't have as much of the lazy couch lock effect, whereas when they start to darken to a more amber color your weed is gonna have a more lazy effect.

Are you sure what you are seeing is a purple capitate globe?
Could you be seeing very small particles of compost dust?
A couple of times i've transferred compost dust onto sticky buds, not much, just a few grains, they looked purplish black among cloudy and clear when i've checked development at a later juncture, looked like the odd purple cap or two or three, sometimes clusters, under the 30x, 100x revealed mineral particles and specs of thin rotted leaf matter from compost where light bounces through the freyed tissues, also looked purple black.
If your fans are powerful, particles will get blown around from arid compost surfaces just before watering.
A 100x scope will help, as has been said.
BTW, specs so minute are not going to harm the consumer, if it is as i suspect, compost dust particles adhering to sticky tricomes.
