It seems that pot was made for the hedonistic life style. It seems to make everything you do seem a lot better than it might be.....or in hedonistic terms as good as it actually is (I subscribe to the latter of course). The side effects of pot include being happy, hungry, and horny. It makes food and sex so much better. Time seems to matter less as time is slower and it becomes easier to live in the moment. Even the short term-memory loss that some people report (although I don't have this effective) seems to amplify the happiness of the moment.

Of course pot being the ideal hedonistic psychoactive isn't something new.......Leary associated pot with the 5th circuit of consciousness located on the right side.....associated with hedonism and eroticism;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8-Circuit_Model_of_Consciousness#The_eight_circuits

The Neurosomatic Circuit is the first of the right-brain, "higher" circuits which are usually inactive in most humans. It allows one to see things in multi-dimensional space instead of the 4 dimensions of Euclidean space-time, and is there to aid in the future exploration of outer space. It is said to have first appeared with the development of leisure-class civilizations around 2000 BC. It is associated with hedonism and eroticism. Leary says this circuit is stimulated by cannabis and tantric yoga, or simply by experiencing the sensation of free fall at the right time.

This isn't hard to believe. However some people report paranoia......I guess this can limit the hedonistic qualities......though with experience the paranoia should be easily controlled. I only get relaxed with pot and almost never experience paranoia. I guess this depends on the person though, and how much experience they are going to donate into mastering the headspace of this beneficial plant.

Ganja seems perfect in other ways as well......it is after all non-toxic and non-addictive. And studies say it is neuroprotective, meaning it is good for your brain;

So hedons everywhere can expand their pleasure seeking to the next level without damaging their body and mind ;).:D

in my opinion, pot is not something to use to further yourself in any way. of course it's different for different people, but it shuts me down, makes me unwilling to do much of anything, and tends to make me stagnate. oh, and a bit of paranoia here and there as well, which tends to make me want to smoke alone, and that can have a spiral effect making me reclusive and introverted.

I think it is perfectly viable to be hedonistic without grass, but I will concede that it is one of my favorite things to indulge in :) I have reached a point now where I want to stop smoking for at least a few months, and maybe once I've reached some of my goals I'll start again, but with restrictions so I don't fall into a bad pattern.

Interesting......yeah as stated pot definitely varies among people in the hedonistic tenancies......I find though that either way you'll enjoy yourself....even if you decide to be introverted. I notice when I'm blazed I often think of the various ways to expand sensual delight.....whether it be touch (sexual), taste (food), hearing (music), smell (good scents), and sight (trippy visual art and such). Though even without those thing pot can be very pleasurable and fun......even just introspection and meditation seems to make it seem like there is a party going on in your head, lol. Socializing can also be much funner with pot, but yeah some folks may get social anxiety.

What??

I voted yes although I think it definitely varies for each person. If you find pot improves your life, makes things more enjoyable and most importantly feels good then by all means it would improve your hedonistic lifestyle. However alot of people do not find the effects of marijuana to be enjoyable in which case I would say no it wouldn't be helping your hedonism to do something that generally doesn't make you feel good.

if you like the effects of weed (which i do very much) then yes, it is ideal for a hedonistic lifestyle...until you start spending all your money on it and you can't do other fun things....

...like eat..or pay the cable bill.
but in that case you should just start to grow :0
and possibly even sell > make more money > contribute to the hedonism

so yes pot is great for hedonism

Whenever I go somewhere or go past somewhere, a part of my mind assesses that area for its potential as a spot to smoke cannabis. Some areas I'm just like "Whoa- this would be an AMAZING spot to smoke up!!"

cannabis makes you appreciate your environment more imo
