whould he be the same if he came back?

whould he have the same name?

whould he be the same race?

whould he be into the same stuff that he was into when he was alive?

whould he have to make it so he doesnt fallow his same patterns that he followed when hes was born last?

whould he have to be opposite of himself and how he spreads the word?

I guess it depends on what he's here for. If he's reiterating the same message, he'd probably be the same. If he's giving a different message, who knows?

Since I think his original message was true, I wouldn't expect him to be giving a contradictory one. Revelations has him coming back as a military commander. I think that's unlikely. More likely, he'd come back as a homeless person, or somebody involved with the homeless, or some kind of hippie. I think a Rainbow gathering would be a good venue for him, since it's similar to the kind of communal meal sharing among strangers and outcasts that he initiated. And he'd still be preaching peace, love and understanding.

according to what i remember from reading revelations a few times:

yes, he would have the same name(s).. he always had many names (the prince of peace, the righteous one, the lord our righteousness, the lamb of god, another unique name given to him only in rev. is the lamb that was slain && he has many more) .. i seem to think that he has a secret name as well that will only be revealed with the comming wrath.

yes, he would be in the same body.. with the same scars.. etc.

yes, definitely into the same philosophy as he was at first. except this time it'll be all about the wrath that's been stored up since the fall of mankind. the wrath will be dosed out to all those that have refused to accept him as the one and only way to know god. actually depending on your interpretation.. when he first comes he may be initiating the millenial reign. This is the time when satan (maybe even his followers.. angels) will be bound for a thousand years.. Jesus will set his throne on mount zion & rule for a thousand years. during this time no one will die && he will only send rain to those regions of the world where people elect to send an anual representative to pay homage to himself. the world will be the closest to utopian that it has ever been since the garden of eden.

-- when the 1000 years ends.. the devil along w/ the anti-christ will be unbound && will gather an army from around the world to besiege jeruselam.. & once they gather in a specific valley & prepare for battle the anti-climax begins. all die simultaneously at jesus' command (their eyes & tongues melt.. ) && then the rest is history.. so long planet earth

-- after-life begins w/ heaven & hell..

(don't ask me how i know all this stuff lol)

Revelations almost didn't make it into the New Testament. In the fourth century, Eusebius listed it as one of the disputed books. Luther gave it secondary status. Calvin largely ignored it. Seven times in the prologue, the author tells us that he is writing about the near future (Revelations is believed to have been written in 95 A.D.), albeit "near" may be different in God's time. It presents a cosmic combat myth as old as the Enumma Elish and Marduk's battle with Tiamat. But Babylon and "the great whore" are still with us, in the domination systems of our own time. Crossan thinks all the emphasis on bloodshed, vengence, and stored wrath is off message--inconsistent with Jesus' central teachings of peace, love and understanding. But I think that even metaphorically, it is consistent with Justice to think that domination systems will eventually get their comeuppins, as I think they will--though maybe not in the literal way graphically depicted in Revelations (but given modern nuclear technology and the reality of terrorism, who knows?)
