Is there any sanity in silence?
The river was still tonight,
And the sun set slower than ever.
We watched shady reflections float along the water
as moonlight quickly filled the air.
I saw your fears fading, though you looked to me,
wishing to touch the stars.
Gracefully we’ll slip into quiet dreams
Our breath will be taken by the sweet melody
weaving itself through the moments.
Tomorrow holds no certainty for us,
Nor does it have any for itself.
The stars are no guarantee of hope.
I can only wish to wake with an ounce of peace in mind.
