Tiles

The faded tiles,
though jejune
and tarnished,
reflect back
the world above
with a surface
(swept clean)
of relentless
mica chips
as if they too
were afraid
to be naked.

for some reason this makes me think of the pyramids in peru; probably because of the mica reference; or was it calcite that they used? hmmm... anyways, I liked this, the short lines made me read it slow and absorb the words, and there weren't any cliches or anything to stumble over.... well done! :)

It's got a nice blend of ee cummings and raymond souster. Both great poets. Write on!
