are you guys familiar with russian psytrance? i really love to trip on that music. it totally controls your trip and you go very deep in hyperspace ;)
like when let's say Kindzadza or Psykovsky plays and you really follow the music, you can go very far , and your trip is totally different then normally.
you can have complete blackouts and very weird thinking patterns
some examples :

perfectly familiar with kindzadza - i promote the name among others around the ambient/trance section of the forum. all trippers should get onto dark psy. it's the gateway to our souls.
you heard of Fungus Funk at all?!

sure i'm into this music for half a decade.
i like Fungus Funk's older work alot, i was a big fan. but since his full album i'm not so impressed anymore , his new works are a bit more boring imo
looks like i have to check out the trance section :)
and indeed this is the real trippers music of today

stonerbill, seriously - yes, you DO. i'd imagine from what i've read of your trip reports, this kind of music will be a valuable tool to the divine.
psylence - what about fungus funk's collaboration album with samadhi - 'Vostok 1'??
I'd advise a listen, it's brilliant.

I'm not much of a techno person. keeping that in mind i did listen to all the songs and all I get from it is noise... you want psychedelic Russian music? Look up Russian Circles...

to be honest mate, you really have to understand the genre to appreciate it. of course, this type of music will fly over certain people's minds. i mean, you can really tune into higher frequencies with dark and melodic PsyTrance.. interwining rhythms consisting of the most innovative sound effects and pulsating beats and basslines that are mapped out with extreme precision.. a type of music that encourages visions of rapidly progressing but highly sophisticated mind manifesting imagery with fractal movements through jellyfish eyes.. altogether forming a concious awareness of the waves from inner space that spark and play on refined auditory perception - like crystal clear crackles forming deluxe inner vibrations that'll have you juggling neurons and twisting the game.
then again, it's not for everybody.

I draw the line at R'n'B and the majority of shit you'll find in topical mainstream chart/televised/radio promoted ''music''.
StonerBill

mainstream is not a genre though is it
Id say there's some pretty sweet R n B out there
perhaps not stuff tlakin about the hood and african male/female dynamics though
PsyGrunge

mainstream is not a genre though is it
I didn't say it was.
I said most of the sad excuses for music (various genres included) in today's mainstream is ridiculous.
50 pence and the like don't deserve to be where they are; and the majority of these clone-like indie acts (I'm not even going to tread into the Emo area) are just producing cliche music which doesn't sound new or fresh, gets repetitive and has absolutely no technicality or talent behind it at all.
Plus they're making stupid amounts of money because the media are making dam sure the public will eat this shit.. and when bands (like the majority of bands you'll hear broadcast today) have their eyes on the prize instead of doing it for the music and being passionate about what they do, it defies the whole point of producing music in the first place.
So much r'n'b and rap focuses on feeding the Ego and generating a cult of fake gold wearing shit chatting scumbags that it's no wonder this country's in the state it's in as far as antisocial behaviour is involved.
PsyGrunge
10-05-2008, 01:40 PM
..you only have to see live performances of certain bands, or pay attention to certain footage at festivals like reading and download to see that 1. these bands sound fuck all like studio recording when playing live and 2. they clearly do not give a shit about what they're doing.
StonerBill
10-05-2008, 02:26 PM
well i don't disagree with any of that
but thats culture!
the music can be seperated,
its not like I actually care about dragons and epic battles, but I still can dig that sort of metal

c'mon guys this is about psytrance + acid :-)
imo Psykovsky is really the best in this mind trick, for all you trippers out there, buy this album http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/ver/ver1cd008.html
and listen to the whole thing on a good trip , you will experience something you never had!
also this japanese guy, Noise Gust is great , a bit harder then psykovsky and less hypnotic but very psychedelic http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=1000390011

exactly
dancing on this music is really a strange experience, i saw dancefloors totally controlled by the dj , almost like a puppet show :D, still everybody dances on his own strange way , but with all these strange sounds you will end up dancing like a mad man and expressing every little sound with your body, and when your doing that your mind is miles away from there ;)
some nice dancefloor moments :

:) its not that i only love the russian psy , its just that most of the wellknown moscow artists have this next level psytrance. but there is alot of very good psy from the US like Bodhi, Ocelot, Quasar,Fractal Cowboys, Alien Mental.
and there are too many great artists from Scandinavia to some.
its strange that in psytrance all parts of the world have there unique sound :) like israel is the part with the cheesy "psy"trance that dont even want to be psychedelic , but they want to be called psytrance artists

well they're just a business suit producing very finely arranged pop music now.
all for the money. sell outs.
to be honest though, even old IM fails to work for me now that i've discovered much more messy grated forms of psy.
i can't believe they are so big when there are so many more amazing artists in the underground scene. that's what i call 'keeping it real'!!

PsyGrunge
10-05-2008, 05:39 PM
It's the fans that blow.
If they realised there's much much more to the genres and got rooted into real psychedelic trance - even full-on artists like Space Buddha and Toast3d - well, we'd soon see what'd happen to their popularity.
Then again, they've already probably made enough money to retire on the profits.

It's good to see people discovering this genre.
I just wish more and more people would discover..
then again, it'd only be a matter of time before it became monetary if that was the case.
to be fair though, it's starting to go that way as it is among artists and events in general.

It's forcing people to evolve their music, I don't think you understood what I was saying.
The elves and gnomes of the california forests are making new psychedelic music that's funky as fuck, and doesn't have the repetition that psytrance does...
but I love the repitition. it's divine. there's nothing like it.
I'm just saying...
even though there are free psychedelic renegade parties every weekend in the bay area
many people are bored of psytrance and are evolving
I'm in the middle...I like what's been done, I like what's happening, and I like what's to come.
p.s. you live in florida, there's no psy there at all. how do you know it was "True"
Please don't just agree with me.

russian psytrance is not techno.
and let me tell you, peaking in the woods with psytrance blasting at full volume is an experience like no other. the entire crowd moving as a single organism, the dj pushing the sound to carry vibes into the higher planes of consciousness. try doing that with classic rock.
