because of the way the narrator speaks

I mean why is what he is talking about true.

He's talking about leary secretly carrying out Satan's objectives..

Maybe I'm missing something, Bill, but you just never struck me as the kind of guy that thought there was some big boogie man named Satan trying to fool you out there somewhere

me neither ^
plus most things you see about leary are sandbagging him for poisoning a generation of free souls with acid induced concepts of knowledge, understanding and peace.

no way you mean Leary isnt really satan incarnate?

sarcasm that is impossible to detect, and then blatant sarcasm b/c we didn't pick up on the original undetectable sarcasm..

I don't disagree with this video at all.
I've actually long seen Leary as a continuation of Crowley.
A continuation of the anti-christ so to say. I've seen Huxley in the same light.
Terence Mckenna also follows the same flow. McKenna's viewpoint on the anti-christ being the most, refreshing and liberating one by far. Which simply goes along the lines of, when you achieve a state of gnosis, you are the anti-christ, because your no longer taking your 'know' from external sources, but rather only internal sources. Really, the coming of the anti-christ, the end of the world as seen from Crowley's, Leary's, Anton Wilsons, McKennas point of view is merely when internal methods of deducing meaning overcome external methods of deducing meaning. When biology overcomes culture.

and I don't think this discredits Leary in the slightest. I also have a great respect for Crowley. I'm not follower of satanist ways, but I recognize it is a necessary reaction, a necessary balance, to the current hold of Christianity.

anti-christ? such a grand term for these mortal men.

anti-christ was never really a very grandiose term to me. It's really the christian people that made it into such a big deal, as in, a man, the anti-christ, is coming. Really I don't think the term anti-christ is necessarily the most accurate when applied to a person, certainly it'd operate through people, but the anti-christ is simply, as I said before, biology coming to speak over culture through the human being. It's channeling, it's gnosis, it's anything of internal perception being relayed outward. As in, anything from the true sacred dimension being relayed outward through direct, dynamic, up-to-date, intuitive internal perception. Because whats really held in such a dimension, the Christian thought processes is no longer in touch with.

and we ( The US and western world I assume ) are a selection of people who are recovering christians, recovering catholics. Our old thought processes were Christian in nature, most people, even atheists, are still highly Christian in the operation of their unconscious mind. Anti-christian is nothing more than the opening of the door to the next wave, whatever it may be. The anti-christ really is not that special.

Although certainly people like Crowley, Leary, whomever, were the first hard-laid down morphic resonances of Christian deconditioning. But they are not THE anti-christ, thats something much larger.

Leary's theory of 8 levels of consciousness. Very interesting to say the least, any of you guys believe this stuff?

To say Leary, or anyone for that matter is the anti-christ is fucking retarded.

Well, there seem to be infinite levels
but the 8 circuits make a lot of sense.
I need to read it again.

I think the 8 circuits of consciousness model is pretty revolutionary but still falls short in many ways. Eg, the left-right dichotomy is completely innacurate. The assumption that these circuits just evolved one after another in such an order is also rather baseless. The separation of directions into the circuits (eg forward back left right up down...) the allocation of drugs to differnet circuits (obviously he was trying to get popularity), and then all the implications of directed evolution (or seeded evolution) which implies various things about mans place int ehw orld.

A part of the brain evolved for space travel? that just seems ridiculous

But it is still a good breakdown of certain functions of the brain

when cross referenced with chakras, the 8 circuit model really isn't that big of an advent. It's more of just a different metaphor describing the same thing.
