Mirrors

Ive noticed that some people have very strong reservations about mirrors, and Ive heard plenty of lame pseudo-acid-wisdom saying not to look in mirrors. But this doesnt line up at all with my experience. So I thought to make a poll about it. What are your thoughts on mirrors? Please, share your most intimate experiences.

I like mirrors. I like them normally, especially. I dont like them as much when im very scattered after staying up al night and all i see are blemishes and dull skin.

But on acid.. Ive even gone and fetched a large mirror because the room I was in was lacking one..

Sometimes I feel like it is the only time I get to actually look at myself in any way that is similar to how other people see me. As long as I dont get too engrossed in some particular thing on my face like an eyebrow or nostril, and i look over my face and my position in my surrounds, then It is rather comforting. Sometimes moreso than a doona.

when i was a kid, in our bathroom we had a triple mirror, the two outside ones were on hinges so you could fold them to the sides of your face while looking into the larger one in the middle.....i used to spend hours doing this mesmerized by all the images of my faces looking back at me.

oddly enough i was at the science center yesterday and they had a similar exhibit which reminded me of these memories.....

I'm fascinated by mirrors.

I love mirrors...
my shamanic friends who work with iboga for healing others ritualistically use mirrors in their ceremonies. I've never eaten iboga, so I have no idea the significance of this, but they love mirrors.......

I fell in love with the mirror after a huge dose of LSD, I learned a lot about my diet, and then vomited in my old apartments toilet a few years ago.
I came up from that and saw myself in the mirror as an old, and dying, tree.

now I always have moments with mirrors when I go into the other dimensions...
usually after a long period of darkness I like to see what's lurking inside of me.

i agree, looking in the mirror is very comforting to me and can sometimes improve my trip

its not like im obsessed with the way i look or anything its just nice keeping in touch with reality when you really need to

on acid when i look in the mirror I can't believe that the image I see is actually me and creates a lot of spiritual confusion, yet it's still very comfortable and pleasant

DMT is a different story, I was going to add. on DMT my reflection usually characterises and segments, so that each angle looks like a different person, as opposed to on acid whereby each angle cooperates to form a consistent 3d image (depending)

I think they're pretty cool to look at whilst tripping. Watching the pores on my face stretch and kind of bounce back, and then my facial expression go through about 100 different phases isn't any thing less than a good time.

ya the secrets of the universe are not in the mirror, the mirror is a reflective piece of glass which lets you look at things from inside the wall and flipped around
