Had em pulled yesterday; was planning to abstain for at least a week (or however long it takes to heal) but I recently stumbled across this article:

http://www.americasdentalbookstore.c...Prevention.htm (http://www.americasdentalbookstore.com/articles/OralSurgery/DrySocketPrevention.htm)

So anyway, now that I've found information both for and against my goal I've decided to turn to the wonderful world of hipforums and see if anyone here has any personal experience with this?

I hear smoking can be bad for the blood clots?

Yeah I've heard that too, but I've also heard that it (the no smoking)is just a reference to cigarette smoking. Nicotine is a vaso-constrictor (reduces bloodflow) and so it can interrupt with the healing process if not as much blood can reach the sockets.

However, I'm not sure if the same holds true for weed or not >_<

well they tell you not to use straws, too.
I think it's more of a suction thing...

if you toke, be really careful?

Do not smoke joints pipes bongs or anything like that.

Make a pale, cut the bottome off a bottle then put the half bottle in a cup, then fill the cup up with water. make a bowlpiece for the half bottle. then light the weed thats in the bowlpiece and raise the bottle. Then to take your toke simpoly lower the half bottle back in the water and the smoke will shoot into your mouth, you can still inhale and there will be no suction needed.

^good advice. also if you can stand to do so, you can breathe through your nose just fine. taking shotguns off a blunt this way will work well, but i find it irritating.

best bet is some food :D

Do not smoke. Sorry. It can cause infections. You only need to for about 3 days.

I would think the smoke would really irritate it. Either way if it were me I would just smoke slowly

Inhaling the smoke is probably not gonna be the best feeling in the world, but I'm pretty sure weed actually increases bloodflow so that might be a plus.
