i bite mine really, really bad but i don't really know anyone else who does.. its so weird around here for someone to do it but i've done it for as long as i can remember.

I have been biting my nails since I was 3-4. My grandma was actually going to PAY me to stop, but I just don't see being able to haha.

Oh yeah. Can't seem to stop either. My sister used to bargain with me to get me to stop. She once promised to do the dishes for me any time it was my turn for the rest of my life; I only made it a few months before I said FUCK IT! :P When I was a teenager I'd grow them out for a little while and paint them, then end up biting through the polish. When is was younger my mom used to put this spicy stuff on my nails to deter me, but it wasn't even really hot, it didn't faze me at all.
I bite mine to the quick sometimes, but I've learned to just suck it up when they hurt, I know it only takes two days to grow out enough to stop hurting.

Yes, I do. Every once in awhile I try to cut them, but I haven't be able to cut the nails of my left hand anyway so it is a good excuse to go on biting them :p

I do. I have quit for short periods of time, only to relapse.

It's bad, too. I can't think about it much. I'm a germaphobe - for real - and thinking about it grosses me out, bad. All the germs and crap that I touch with my fingers, and then I put them in my mouth. No matter that I'm an obsessive hand washer, I know that I can't get 100% of the gunk 100% of the time. Ewwwww.

^^I'm an obsessive hand washer too, and I always pay attention to what I touch so I pretty much always know what's on my hands and wash accordingly. :P I also never scrape anything with my nails to keep from crap collecting under them, if I HAVE to scrape something, which I rarely do, I use the back of my nail so I can wash it off easily. I know just how much crap can get under your nails, so I keep them as clean as I can and I always make sure my hands are clean if I feel like biting.
