Three years ago today. At least here in the New York City area, you could hardly see a car pass by with out a flag on it somewhere, somehow.
It was truly amazing all the different ways people found to fly the American Flag.
On the antenna, the bumper, trunk, hood, door. No mater where or how Everyone showed in whatever way they could. There support for this country. A spirit of pulling together and purpose I have not seen in my lifetime.
You could not find a flag to buy anywhere, and all were being used, proudly proclaiming, shouting from each vehicle, and porch. The Spirit Of Freedom exists and cannot be broken. Adversity will only make us unite and stronger.

That was only three short years ago.

One by one, the flags, like our faith in the guidance of the flags succumbed to the ravages of the environment.
No longer proud, no longer able to look the world square in the eye, with the stare of truth, we let our flags, heart and patriotism, fall into the salty mud, ripped by the wind of war that we cannot justify.

Why when touched by such a tragedy as 911 did our leaders prove the fundamentalist's correct.

Where is the peace we worked our lives to make the world better when we left then when we came.
I thought I did my part, but here we are, stuck, open the news to another bell toll, another beheading,
Hatred for my kind and my kids.

All we worked for has to be rebuilt, hope we are up to it.

Peace
