So today as I'm driving to a job (for work) I had to park at Pathmark (grocery store) because the people I was following did so. So I get back in my car and start it up, and attempt to switch into first gear. Not happening. After stalling out a few times I find out that even in neutral the fucking car thinks it's in gear and tries to move forward.
So after fucking with it for about 2 minutes it gets STUCK in 3rd gear BUT when I let go of the pedal a bit it reverses. It WILL NOT be moved from 3rd gear and is completely locked. This is the SECOND fucking transmission that's been in this car and it just died I'm assuming. What a piece of shit. I'm not bad at driving a stick but the fucking car is just a piece of shit. It's a Mazda Miata 1991. I mean I had a lot of fun times in it but the fucking thing would break down once or more every month. Or something would go wrong with it.
UGH. This is NOT something I can handle right now. I JUST today met with my lawyer and he's charging $5,000 for my case. Yeah. And that's the cheap version because he's represented me before (He's a cool guy and a super good lawyer). On top of that I'm $4500 of total debt to the bank and credit card companies. That's not a huge problem because I can pay it off over time, as I can with the lawyer (because my mom footed the bill outright).
However I do NOT have the money for a new goddamn car. On the flipside I get to drive a super nice Cadillac CTS. Thing has like 29,000 miles on it. It's gorgeous.
But seriously what the hell am I gonna do? Like my grandfather suggested replacing the transmission and selling it. LOL. Why the fuck would I do that? A transmission is over a thousand bucks, not even counting labor costs. I also have a feeling it has something to do with the discount auto people we bring my car to (because we know the dude somewhat). Because it has left that shop and been even more fucked up then it was when it went it. I'm not bringing my next car there, that's for sure.
I could've probably gotten near $2,000 for it when it was working, now it's basically worthless. It has one thing going for it though. It's one of those cars that people collect and work on.
UGH. I thought my boyfriend of 2 years dumping me sucked. Well I'm glad I'm over that at least. I wouldn't be able to handle this situation under depression.
I hate cars man. But I hate money more. =(
