The world is anew with fragrance.
Each blossom so unique;
A vulnerability, fleeting and fragile,
perfumes the air.
Hovering,
in rapt present worship,
before submitting to beauty.
The wonder of diversity,
each having a pollenated purpose,
all calling for attention.
I feel my heartbeat,
rapidly racing,
with each new inhale.
Enflamed inferno of fertility,
noble sentience beyond compare,
imprinting the duty of submission.
A nest of a thousand entries,
each a dancing moment,
and the one final home; here.

Gorgeous piece, and I absolutely loved the above two stanzas. Made me think of the summer and smell the flower auromas. Ever so expressive and gentle.

At first glance this is tranquil, beautiful, calm...and then you look closer and become embroiled in the emotional clashes, contradictions, and then truly understand the nature of the beast....
Allow me to explain:
The vulnerability of the youthful blossom, is overpowering the whole world's air....that's feisty!
The Hummingbird worships, THEN submits - it's a battle of will, for a brief second.
The selfishness of youth, each blossom vies for the bird's submission, not just attention...like streetwalkers, naive.
You, watching, the hummingbird's passion in your breast - lusty, physical, the heat, the inferno - this is hell waiting, this desire. And she has the control. The hotblooded hummingbird, overcome, loses that brief battle, and submits, willingly.
"Enflamed inferno of fertility," - I can't tell you how much I like that line.

I read this one a coupla times yesterday sylvan, and thoroughly enjoyed it. At my house I've got five hummingbird feeders out on the back deck, and the little guys were quite active yesterday! Your latest offering here made me smile; thanks for sharing your elegant observations...
