smoking resin

I went over to my bud's house the other day and brought two of my pipes. We had no bud, but my friend said you could scrape out the black resin from the pipes and smoke it. So we scraped a lot, and as soon as we packed the bowl, I had to leave. My friend smoked it and said he got a good buzz from it. Anyone here smoke resin? I'm thinking about scraping off the resin after every bowl I do, so when I don't have any weed I'll have some resin to smoke. But does this actually work?

it is probably more potent than your weed...
let it all build up over time, i have never seen anyone harvest resin after each bowl.... that would be... weird.

resin is ok, if your in a bind. Alot of people are against smoking resin, but I say fuck it, it can still get you bake, although resin can turn on you and give a a massive headache, plus the taste is like rotting chipmunk vagina( well, maybe not that bad but still pretty nasty) but there's really no cheaper way to get buzzed.

Resin is VERY potent, BUT:

1) It's -extremely- carcinogenic, as it's the unfinished product of combustion. Nothing but good ol' natural carbon monoxide and toxic tars!

2) It may give you a headache or other effects you don't normally experience with weed, like light-head.

Resin will get you stoned as fuck. The high is different and I sometimes prefer it to bud, for a change. There's nothing like taking phatass bonghits of resin for an hour or so, because resin takes a long time to smoke, when you have a decent amount. The high doesn't last as long as a regular high though.

my mom's pipe is covered in rez shes had parts of it (the bowl is original, most of the rest has been replaced over time) for years) and you can get a hell of a buzz off of it empty - she says you can smoke it on just the rez for 2 weeks (don't think 2 weeks, but thats what she says)

Heat the bowl with a lighter then scrape it out the bowl with something like a knife, paper-clip, etc.

EDIT: It is messy and smelly as fuck and will most likely get stuck all over your fingers, ick

iread in high times once that smoking resin is a waste.something about how the active ingrediants are released at a much lower temp then what it takes to burn the buds so by the time it's hot enough to turn to resin all the good stuuffs gone.but i find this to be complete bullshit resin has seen me through several times maybe it's just the act of smoking but whatever

I'm guessing there is hardly ANY THC at all in resin and that the resin high comes from the other cannabinoids that are present, because the THC has already been burned off, for the most part.

i only smoke resin when i have nothing else left, it gets you high, but it leaves me with a headache if i smoke too fast or don't eat right away.

and it does get all over everything, use rubbing alcohol to get it off your fingers and stuff.

I smoke resin all the time...but with my pipe small bits of shake get stuck inside the chamber and get coated over with resin. They would be the other cannabinoids... Great for smokin in a pinch!:D

but we smoke a few bowls yesterday off our first bong, and left in the bowl was black, sticky, tar like substance. is this resin cos this is all that was left, it seemed too sticky and gooey to be resin

The weed situation is so sporadic that I end up smoking resin more often that I smoke weed. I only smoke that shit because I'm a fiend. If I had a steady flow of weed, I would never smoke resin.

But woe and alas, all I have right now is the resin I've been scraping from my bowl and saving during the green times. I like scrap the resin out of my bowl every 1/2 ounce and right before I get some new bud so that the resin in the pipe doesn't affect the taste of good bud. I keep a bag of resin.

The one thing that is good about resin, is you can smoke it, scrap it, smoke it again, scrap it and smoke it again, and again and again until you've got a clean pipe, or at least that's how i do it. And yeah, the following headache sucks.
