nah, there's plenty of pure organic syntheses for lsd around. even if you need to get starting materials from ergot, it's organic chem. growing the ergot and figuring out how to tweak it's genetics so it makes pure lsd instead of various toxic ergot compounds is what a biochemist would do :D

Owsley Stanley only knew how to manufacture meth before he switched to LSD. If the desire is strong enough no degrees are required.

it's not hard to get the knowlage to make LSD
it's hard to get the supplies.

easy to get the knowledge, but actual synthesis is way different than reading a procedure. not exactly a cakewalk preventing isomerization of the intermediates into inactive compounds. you think Owsley got it right the first time?
not hard, but definitely not easy. it takes practice
