Why do all Wiccans talk funny? Im serious, im not trying to be an ass, im just wondering where all the funky lingo originates from.

Much of the 'lingo' derives from traditional words/phrases. For authenticity, or just because it sounds good and coming up with new terms seems pointless. This is by no means unique to paganism.

Once you are familar with something, then the words just come naturally and are logic way to communicate with other who share your interest. They only seem strange to 'outsiders'.
(a paraphrased theory by Wittgenstein)

For me terms like Summerland, athames etc are no more strange than ram, megabites etc are to those who work with computers.

Phrases that would come from a Tolkien book? I'm curious now, apart from the names of the holidays (Imbolc and the like) I don't use much "weird lingo" at all. Yeah, give us some examples.

PS
I'm not really Wiccan, I'm a pagan
