It's a barbiturate. I'm not familiar with it, so I cant tell you much about dosage. I would imagine it has recreational potential as a sedative.

From Wikipedia:
Phenobarbital (INN (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Nonproprietary_Name)) or phenobarbitone (former BAN (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Approved_Name)) is a barbiturate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbiturate), first marketed as Luminal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminal) by Friedr. Bayer et comp (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayer). It is the most widely used anticonvulsant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anticonvulsant) worldwide and the oldest still in use. It also has sedative (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedative) and hypnotic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnotic) properties but, as with other barbiturates, has been superseded by the benzodiazepines (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benzodiazepine) for these indications. The World Health Organization (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Health_Organization) recommends its use as first-line for partial and generalized tonic-clonic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonic-clonic_seizure) seizures (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seizure) (those formerly known as Grand Mal) in developing countries (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Developing_country). It is a core medicine in the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WHO_Model_List_of_Essential_Medicines), which is a list of minimum medical needs for a basic health care system.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenobarbital#cite_note-essentialWHO-0) In more affluent countries it is no longer recommended as a first-line medication, however it is relied on as an alternate when a patient fails to respond to treatment with more modern AED's (Anti-Epileptic-Drugs).[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenobarbital#cite_note-NICEguidelines2004-1)[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenobarbital#cite_note-epilepsyfoundation-2) It is still commonly used around the world to treat neonatal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neonatal) seizures.[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenobarbital#cite_note-BNFc4.8.1-3)

Also, you can check out the barbiturate vault at erowid here: http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/barbiturates/

Just outta curiousity, is there an expiration date on the pill bottle? If so, what is it?

Are you actually serious man? Phenobarbital is a fucking barbituate! They were phased out because benzodiazepines did the same thing but were less fun, and everyone still gets high off benzos. Barbs are even more recreational.

The expiration date isn't important. They'll keep for 20 years easy if they were sealed and in a dry place.

Oh I bet it is fun!

I'm intrigued to hear how old that particular bottle may be... I never said it would be inactive or too old to consume. Just curious :)

I hated phenobarbitol when I took it. It was prescribed to some kids dog, and it felt fucking weiiird blowing pooch pills. Basically felt like getting drunk but without the euphoric glow and an even worse hangover.

Methylmethaqualone can be found on underground RC/pharm sites. No need to go to Africa for it =P.

Ugh don't snort phenobarbital. What's with people and their fascination for snorting pills. It'll be much better if you just take them. It'll last longer too.
