Is Benadryl Worth Trying?

There's some benadryl in the cabinet. You guys think it's worth a try? I remember trying DXM and regretting it, so I thought I would ask about this one first.

benadryl isnt a drug. It wont get you high. But its good for combos, like opiates and some benadryl is good, maybe even with weed. It just gets you sleepier

kil0 ur thinking of people just using benedryl with opiates to get more effect of the opiates, but if u take enough benedryl u most definitly will get high, if u can even call it that. And having done it probably around 10 times, i can safely say it is most definitly not worth. My friend over dosed on it (on just 400 mg, a medium dose if ur looking to loose ur mind), that is some very scary shit when u your self are hallucinating hard. luckily we had a sober sitter with us or he would have most likely not lived through the night (about an hour after his first seizure he was extremly delerious, could not form sentances, did not respond to pain, did not know where he was, could not walk a foot with out falling but kept trying to, kept slamming his head onto things, and did not know who he or we were). but that was just the first time i tried it, and for some reason i kept trying it at higher and higher doses. Its not really fun but its interesting to see just how far out you can go. If i could best describe benedryl at high doses, i would call it datura in a pill (than theres story of me taking datura and waking up to an empty 20 pill packets of benedryl, but thats a story for a differnt time). but its also worth mentioning benedryl in 200-300 m.g. dose level for me brings on a level of sedation that is midly pleasurable. however whats really good is having sex or masturbating on this lower dose. very very very pleasurable, an incredablie orgasm. but all in all, id have to say, put the benedryl back unlless ur looking to loose ur mind for a day (and i mean total realistic as hell hallucinations). O yah and TNS on these forums knows a bunch about benedryl too

I don't recommend anyone experiment with diphenhydramine as anything other than an antihistamine because it can be really dangerous... For some reason, several years ago, I ate 450mg of it... And I greatly regretted it. I came out of it alright, thankfully, but it was a horrid experience. I have also seen reports of diphenhydramine causing very serious bladder problems, and no one could possibly enjoy having a catheter inserted into their dick.

what a great point, that is something a lot of people MUST come to terms with...

if you want a little buzz to pass the time or whatever cause your out of other drugs, diphenhydramine is fun at lower doses. or if you have some weed and want to feel extra stoned out pop a few. i like to drink beer with a few of em in my system too, like 1-3, but have drank with about 6 in me, 150 mgs. unless you want to feel like youve been up for weeks and talking to all your friends who arent there, dont take more than 200 to 300 mgs. heck, for recreation i wouldnt go past 150, i prefer 75. 300 mgs is where for me it starts to get close to that line, where you cant blink the cobwebs forming on your walls away anymore unless you keep your eyes closed for a few seconds. sometimes though, on a low dose, its hard to get to sleep after you've stayed up past that point cause it makes your skin dry and it feels like a hair or something keeps going over parts of you and tickles for a sec. it also makes your legs feel like they got resless leg syndrome which can get annoying. and if you do it at night your gunna be tired all the next day if you do a lot. although if you didnt like dxm, i dont think you'll like diphenhydramine past like 50 mgs.
edit: yeah you probly wont like it if you didnt like ativan, they're both sedatives, hypnotics, anxiolytics, muscle relaxants (diphenhydramine being a skeletal muscle relaxer, ativan i dont know,) and i think theyre both antiemetics. but ativan has a high abuse potential, and diphenhydramine doesnt, so you would probably hate it even more.

I used to enjoy it at around 100-125mg but something has really made me dislike it now. I think because I had it IV and it really makes you feel shitty when you go from feeling normal to a 100mg dose in 10 seconds. Now I just take 75 to make me sleepy if I have nothing else.

I did it once. I at 10 - 13 (it's hazy) 50 mg pills, spread out over two hours. The scratches on my laptop would start wriggling and they'd become independent objects rising toward my face, and I'd just sit there with my neck at a 90 degree angle to my body staring at them. And I thought my friend who was tripping with me got up and moved my mug for no reason, and when I went to grab my mug my hand just plopped right on the desk. And I thought I saw my friend Christie crouching in the corner. I said, "Christie! Christie!" and my friend was like "Dude, no one's there..." if he hadn't dont that, it could have gotten scary. There was something very ominous about the way she was crouching in the corner. And then, when it was time to sleep, I kept waking myself up because I'd dream that I was talking to someone, and then I'd actually respond to them. Like I'd say, "Hey, what's up?" and wake up. It wasn't an enjoyable experience, but I don't regret it. The hangover was shit though, not worth it at all. Also, I had no idea it was dangerous until reading this thread, but now that I know that, I do not recommend it. I wouldn't have before, but if it's dangerous it's absolutely not worth the risk.

Iv'e found that benadryl is OK at best. It can get you funny at low doses, but it's pretty empty. No euphoria, no visions (at low doses), fucking nothing, just a funny feeling. Try it once if you must, but I don't think it's very enjoyable. The only decent part about it in my opinion is the "rayman" feeling I get on about 150 mgs. All my body parts feel like they are seperate entities that are not attached to my body. Other than that, it sucks. Hope that helps.

you know its rain man right? and thats what autism probably feels like. some drugs make me feel the same way, mostly dissociatives, diphenhydramine not so much, but i could see how someone could feel that way from it. at about 150 mgs it kinda has a little vibe that feels like dxm which makes me feel autistic sometimes. but diphenhydramine makes me forget things real quick while im on it, another one of its annoyances. but i'd say diphenhydramine makes me feel more schizo than autistic cause you dont realize that your losing your mind as much as you are while its happening. you just sorta keep slipping into your own mind. it makes me feel like the whole world is fake sometimes, or that our waking life is really our dream life, and vice a versa, and that we're all already dead and have been tricked into thinking we're actually alive right now, when really we're just reliving a time that passed so long ago. all we are is the replay that someones watching to keep this part of existence sustained and not lost. i dont even know how to explain it right, so im just gunna stop. but yeah, like everyones saying, benadryl is alright if you need to relax, but sometimes some of its side effects can actually make it harder to relax, which is why 75 mgs is my favorite dose, not to much, not to little.

WEIRD body load, crazy dream like state/visuals.
id recommend trying it once but when you do it you'll never want to do it again.

He was talking about the video game character Rayman, he has his arms and legs like hovering next to his body. But anyway, I took about 8 benedryl 2 hours ago. That is about 200mg. I am feeling very relaxed and tired somewhat. I will probably stay up until around 2:30 or 3:00 and see if anything else happens and report it, but I am somewhat doubtful. I took 300mg a few months ago and didn't get anything except a really heavy body feeling and sleepy.

First I'll answer to your question: Diphenhydramine makes you sleeep at recommended dosage (25-50mg).

250mg will create a delirious state resulting from anticholinergic poisoning that will keep you awake. No need to take another substance to keep you awake.

But now analyze what I said: "delirious state resulting from anticholinergic poisoning". That isn't fun, that makes your heart rate raise dangerously, but it's only one of the many health problems you will experiment.

Prepare yourself to feel bad, because you will feel bad. Dysphoria is common at that dose.

Dipehenhydramine is a wonderful substance with so many use! I can't live without, i use it to help me sleep, for motion sickness, for relief from opiate induced itchynesss, etc...
But I will never even think of taking more than 50mg...

I take benadrly at night for stress reduction. Works if you have anxiety at 2-3 pills or 25-75 mg. Not worth taking to trip at all.I have read stories of people having all kinds of crazy delusions about spiders etc. Its the not the kind of drug where you can have a "good" trip. and hear and feel shit. it has more annoyances than any other substance. while 250 mgs probably wont put you in a completely delirious state, that is right around the dose range where it starts to get there, and you'll just be waiting for it to end. and it does get harder to sleep if you take to much cause your legs start feeling restless and you'll skin will dry out and have tactile hallucinations. its not a "fun" substance, more of a serious type substance that you shouldnt try to have "fun with. but just for your information, 250 mgs will put me in a very tranquil, sleepy state, skin, hair, and mouth mildly dry, nothing to excessive. flat surfaces will begin to develop cobwebs that grow larger the longer you stare, but will blink out in a few blinks, maybe even one. but 250 mgs is close to the range where you could start thinking your with people who arent there. and remember, you wont realize this until after it happens to you, every time. you'll notice that you were talking to and with yourself, and/or not in the situation you thought you were in. and it doesnt give a "high," so to say. it feels like a totally natural state, so even though all this is happeneing to you, its not really appreciable until the next day when you can reflect. so unless you like what sleep deprivation feels like, benadryl is not worth trying. but if you just need to relax from a hard day or whatever, 75 mgs tops, like everyones been sayin.

When I was stupid and first found out about benadryl I drank literally an entire LARGE bottle of it, that is something like 1000mg and thank GOD I didnt die. I didnt even hallucinate but I thought my heart was literally going to freeze it felt so cold and I am pretty sure I felt it stop a couple times.. Dont mess with it. I shouldnt have lived through my experience, especially being a 140lb girl but somehow I did thank goodness.

I guess my mouth was a little dry, but I didnt have any hallucinations at all.. The first time I ever had a hallucination really was actually on imitrex and I hallucinated spiders.. Weird stuff, both my fiance and myself have STRANGE reactions to imitrex and both hallucinate on it.. Also a couple weeks ago I took a nose spray pain medication for migraines before going to bed and hallucinated for a good half hour. It was frustrating though because I actually wanted to sleep but they were crazy with awesome colors and warping.

the only physical feeling i had was similar to nitrous, then my first hallucination was when i was looking out through my windshield while sitting in my car and the water dropplets on it turned into lights then all of a sudden they kind of grouped together and a christmas tree formed in front of me and the lights(water dropplets) were on the christmas tree haha.
then cobweb hallucinations... not sure what that is?? but i had a weird ass hallucination it was like a blob of swirling see through material like a ball of wavey fumes swirling around... then i looked down at my feet and a tiny green frog appeared and i kicked it and i actually felt it through my shoe... touchable hallucinations??
the only audio hallucinations were people talking then i would close my eyes and have lucid dreams but when i opened my eyes/woke up my dreams were real life. it was crazy. i actually enjoyed the hallucinations and body high...
but it just lasts to long i guess to be really enjoyable....

yeah touchable hallucinations are called tactile hallucinations. and the cobweb hallucinations are like the most common first hallucinations from it. it does last a pretty minut doesnt it. the next day i always still have a dry feeling from it, it sucks.
