This time last year I decided that I needed more structure to my reading and printed off one of the many 100 Greatest Book lists off the internet. It's taking me longer than I thought it would and I'm now about half way through the list. I'm finding the whole experience very rewarding and it's thrown up books that it would have crossed my mind to read previously but it turns out that I actually really enjoy.
Anyone else tried this? What books did you discover? Any exceed or fall short of your expectations?

that's a really good idea! closest i've come to that was i thought, when i was a preteen that i'd read all the young adult books at the library from a-z. i think i got only into the b's before i gave up.
it did however open my eyes to such greats as douglas adams, and issac asimov. :)

Haha, that IS a good idea...i used to read loads in college, loved litrature classes, went to the theatre all the time!...i just stopped:( Its pretty sad really...im really going to pick it up again, my vocabularys becoming awfully sparse for one thing...but i miss that part of me. I might print off a list:)

When I publish my novel, I think I'll use the name "Aaron Aardvaark" ...

Anyone else tried this? What books did you discover? Any exceed or fall short of your expectations?Which one, if any, did you really not like? One that you thought, 'how could that be in the top100 of all time?"
