we need duality to be able to identify anything. we need to see the highest highs and lowest lows before we can *choose* to go with love, not because we can't conceptualize anything else, but because we know it's up to us.
eventually you'll love the comedown as much as you love the high because you'll know you can't have one without the other. then you'll be able to transcend both :).

if god placed us in this world, he made sure that there were a lot of fuckin horrible things for us to see, so that we may be transfixed on the afterlife as an escape from all the horrors of Earth.
No natural state is equatable to ecstacy high.
But it sort of represents heaven - full of love, pleasure, comfort, and meaning.
So asking why god wouldnt allow us to stay high forever.. well it sort of ruins god's plan of getting us to fear for our viscera. It would be like allowing humans to be in heaven for their life on earth, in which case they would not develop the desire for an escape from this world.
