I am brand new to this forums board but have discovered that very little seems to be known about Tramadol on here. Here is a general outline of this medication and its recreational usage. I am not a doctor but have years of experience under my belt with this pharmaceutical.
TRAMADOL/ULTRAM GUIDE
Meet Tramadol
Tramadol is truly in a category of its own. It is true that Tramadol is a synthetic analog of codeine, therefore one could say that it is an opiate. However it doesn't act on the opiate receptors as strongly as normal opiates do. While opiates usually act on multiple Opiate Receptors, Tramadol works on one or very few. It is approximentaly 1/10 as powerful as morphine, effecting the receptor(s) less.
Effects
- Tramadol can produce effects on some people that are much more prefered than even opiates like hydrocodone, oxycodone, and morphine. Tramadol is weaker but it is known to give what I call an "Afterglow". This continues to happen to me to this day: 6-10 hours after dosing at least 250mg or more, this profound sense of happiness overcomes you. Your not physically impaired, just mentally happy. You slowly come off this feeling, I said come-off NOT "come-down". Come downs are shitty.. come off's are chill. It's funny really.. when I was at the peak of my Ultram use, where the effects seemed to greatest, it was almost like a low dose of MDMA.. you know where the X begins to kick in.. like first sinking in to bath of hot water. It's nice, I'm telling you. It will, however, effect everyone differently. I compare it to MDMA because of the mental sense of well being it brings. Not nearly that of MDMA but you get the picture. It usually kicks in about 30 min. to an hour after dosing. Tramadol also seems to impair one much less than regular opiates. Driving can still be dangerous, and I urge you to choose your decisions wisely.
Tolerance
- Tramadol can lose its magic after a few years but generally takes longer for the body to build a tolerance because its not slamming so many opiates receptors (like Hydro and Morphine). If you dose very high on a daily basis, it will lose its effect.
Positive Euphoria
- Tramadol is amazing in many ways. It brings an opiate buzz during first usage that at times can feel very well. It brings this mental concentration at times, and seems to raise one's mood. This buzz doesn't only just last during first usage but during the first year or two you will get the most out of it. Even after 9 yeras, it helps me stay emotionally balanced and refrains myself from experiencing sadness or despair on a general basis.
Dosage
- I currently take 6-9 Ultrams a day. This is considered high but believe it or not, I need this. I am prescribed 180 (50mg) pills a month. I suggest no one take this dosage unless absolutely neccesary. If your first months, don't pass up 250mg (or five 50mg pills in one day). Afterwards, its your call. I use to be on Heroin so my doc can't prescribe me opiates or I'll relapse. Ultram is considered weaker than opiates so it's all I got to manage my pain. And yes, it does a little bit more.
Combinations with other Drugs
- Tramadol can be a blast with other drugs. Do not take it with DXM though. This can really fuck up your serotonin. Taking it with other opiates seems to allow you to keep the mental effects of Tramadol and feel the physical euphoria of the combined opiate. I also take Adderall daily with the Ultram. They do effect each other, and personally, I love it. I get the focus and concentration of Adderall and this slight, very background-like opiate buzz with mental positivity and emotion. So its like this feel good, energetic concentration with euphoric emotion. Benzo's seem to have a stronger effect with Ultram but can also overpower you if your not careful. Keep it slow. The effects of Hullucinogens will be decreased if taking Ultram. As I said before, Tramadol (Ultram) acts like an SSRI (prozac) and blocks serotonin re-uptake. Fry and Boomers will not work as well if taken on the same day. I've done Ultram with about every drug out there, if you have any more questions, just ask.
Seizures
- Tramadol can cause seizures. I know this because I have had one. It acts somewhat as an SSRI (like prozac and zoloft) so if you are taking an SSRI, Do not take Tramadol. I was put on prozac when I was 17 and the first day I started, I woke up in my living room with 9 EMT's holding me down. You think your in a nightmare. Your body remains stiff for days.. you know when you work out or stretch your legs or arms? You feel the burn? That is a certain type of acid that is released into your muscles. During this seizure, all your muscles get flooded with this acid. The next day you feel like your body was hit by a train. All happiness is drained and stupidity of the mind is overwhelming. It took me 4-5 months just to get my short-term-memory 3/4 of what it was before. So remember this combo.. It can cause Serotonin Syndrome and trust me, I wouldn't wish SS on my worse enemies. It is hell on Earth.
Withdrawals
For me, Tramadol (Ultram) greatly reduces Opiate Withdrawals effects. If your coming of Heroin or OC, or any other opiate, try 3 Ultrams in the morning, and 3 in the afternoon. However, Tramadol is a double-edge sword in the category of withdrawal. WHile Tramadol helps reduce withdrawals, withdrawaling from Tramadol itself is a hell of its own. For those of you who know Heroin withdrawls - the sweating, the body agitation, the body pain, puking, diareeah, all that.. Tramadol withdrawal is more like this overwhelming sense of hopelessness mentally, physical pain like heroin 'drawals, and insomnia up the ass. It is almost like it hits you on a spiritual level. Make sure you taper off of Ultram if you KNOW you wont be able to get more or a refill. This do I absolutely urge you to do.
Sleeping
Ultram can either help your sleep, or keep you up. It varies from person to person. For me, I get insomnia due to the mental sense of well being which tells me "you don't need to fucking sleep". So I dont. Thats why I don't take it past 8 or 9 pm. However, if I take Ultram with Diphenhydramine (Tylenol PM), it brings the same opiate effect of Hydrocodone. Most opiate users known that Diphenhydramine (Tylenol PM, Benadryl) and Promethazine (Phenergen) usually multiply the effects of opiates. It has this effect on Ultram as well but not in the same context. If you do it to much, it won't work anymore.
Overall
Overall, this drug is very light, not even considered a medium drug, and a weak opiate compared to others. However, Tramadol brings something to the table that even potent opiates cannot achieve. The unique and diverse mental & emotional effects are pretty kickass. The body high lasts a good while, and did I forget to mention that this drug will help your pain very well. It's sort of like my retreat drug, cannabis being most of the world's; this is the one thing I can always fall back on and know "hey I can feel good but not get too fucked up or addicted. I can find this peace and balance and know life will be ok." In the end though, anything can cause addiction, even this. Remember who you are, what your values are, and to practice PEACE, LOVE, UNITY, AND RESPECT.
Happy Tripping Everyone. Hit me up if you all got questions. Tramadol is just one of many pharms/chemical I can tell you about. Thanks again for your time in reading this.
