So, I ate 10 Datura seeds last night..

I was feeling really curious about it with all this talk on here about it, and researching it and stuff, so I figured a first hand experience would help me understand the mystical, maniacal qualities of Datura. I had some seeds already dried, I use to grow the plants sometimes. I took ten of them, and crushed them up. Downed them with a cup of water and 2 am. By 3, I thought I wasn't feeling anything, til I got up to go pee. Took me about ten minutes to get there, and about 20 to remember why I was in the bathroom. I was really confused, and I had no short term memory at all. Anyway, made it to bed about 4, and went comatose until 5 this afternoon. I woke up in a daze, and had a very bad headache. I drank a few glasses of water, and took some tylenol, which didn't help my hed at all. Anyway, I went to work, and went about my day normally. I have felt very strange all day though. I keep feeling like there are people moving around me, but when I turn to see them, they are alwqays right out of my field of view. I hear strange noises, and feel very groggy. I still haven't much sense of time, where I am, what I am doing, anything. I feel like a floating stick in a pond. No short term memory at all. I came home tonite and started my comp, and then totally forgot about it and went outside and walked in circles around the house. I fianlly realized what I was doing, and I had my cell phone in my hand but no one was on it. I don't know if I thought I was talking to someone at some time or what, but I just ended up outside walking with my phone. I can't remember why or when. I feel so strange right now. I am having muscle pains in my joints and hands, and the hea still aches. I am constantly thirsty. Well anyway, I am gonna wait a few weeks and try this again with a few more seeds to see if I can get a stronger response. Oh yeah, I have no visual problems at all, except my eyes hurt bad. I can focus clearly though.

If i felt like that after a drug experience i would be concerned. I suggest you keep hydrated, clean out your system with some apple cider vinegar, and start using a good antioxident to help protect you from all those free radicals.

Heres is my thoughts on datura,

Datura can have very alarming effects which may appear to be strange or scary.

It all depends on the dosage.

A small amount of extract can bring on the effects quciker.

Noticable visible side effects include,
dryness of mouth
skin becoming dryer
eyes irritated
blurred vision

Mental side effects from higher doses can be severe and mentally harmful.
delusions
hallucinations
deranged thought changes
sounds visions
flights
voyages

These effects can last days, i`ve experienced effects for 2 days from one tea made with just 2 leafs brewed in. Very powerful stuff.

I personally haven`t yet fully got over or understood the effects yet.

It can take ages

The trip seems so real, as real as day, me or you.

I find too many explorations with datura can be harmful to ones health, mainly mentally.

It can leave one feeling lost and weak for long periods of time.

It aint no small trip

Everything can seem in place but not be.

The trip comes on slowly but a strange uplifted kind of sensation can occur quick, not in any respect compared to extasy or amphetamines.

Everything seems normal so its difficult to tell when the trip starts and ends.

I put much empathsis into the bad bits because their really isn`t that much good bits.

It is unlike any other hallucinogenics in respect to its power and just a whole lot of not knowing, whereas one can sort of get use to LSD or mushrooms.

Their are no ways to describe the true effects, except it feels asif it is a portal to new dimensions which our normal minds cannot even begin to percieve.

I am writing this in the hopes that it will prevent someone else from severe injury. This is not a report of how I am affected by the drug Datura but by my nephew who is in very, very bad shape. My 16 year old nephew is currently in I.C.U. and still after 36 hours is incoherent and nearly comatose, he hasn't recognized any family members or his surroundings since this started. His pupils are dilated nearly the size of dimes. He is apparently in living hell as demonstrated by his horrified facial expressions of bulging eyes and uncontrollable trembling. He is continually doing sporadic mumblings, with paranoid darting eyes and scanning around the room, looking at what we can only imagine. It is very obvious that he is experiencing true terror and horrific scenes of hallucination.

His heart rate is hovering around 115 - 130 bpm and his mouth is coated with blood. He is shaking, agitated and in four points restraints (which he got out of and tried to pull the catheter out of his penis which would have resulted in severe injuries did he not get stopped in time). For the first nine hours of his 'high' we were in the dark about what could be the cause of this - ambulance drivers, fire chief, police all said it was drugs but the test results all came back negative - blood and urine samples negative. This all led the doctors to believe this was neurological and my nephew was taken for a CAT scan, where results still came back negative. We all feared the worst, brain damage, anuerism, etc. every terrifying thought came to mind. All family members were called in the middle of the night where we all rushed to the the Emergency room. We cried, worried and prayed - the younger children witnessed this chaos and won't soon forget.

If you want to try this drug, please consider what the effects of this on others will be...$20,000 hospital bill at least -ICU for days, CAT scan, Ambulance, Specialists - please take warning. We can't determine how much he took as a plant with four pods were found in his room. We still don't know if he will pull out okay or not. The doctors cannot say if there will be any long term effects. We are so worried.

never tried datura but benadryl is made from it and i have tried that, i experienced probly the same shit as datura just on a lower scale. its just in that list of drugs i wish i would've never ever done.

i've been reading a book on shamanism, many tribes in africa use datura as a main part of the shamanic experience. Some tribes require you to have an extreme experience with datura, in order to face some kind of spirit. One even feeds low ammounts of datura to new born babies to help them find their spirit animal at birth.

Fucking crazy- I know a guy who took datura frequently, he's always in a daze- years after his experiments.

I've read about it on erowid and im totally down to try it. I'm interested in talking with plants, statues, and the dead - sounds like an informational day ;) However, as always, I'd like to do it in an educated, researched, and safe manner. That said, I've read that the variances in terms of potency of Atropine varies in each seed or plant material so in that respect it's hard to be sure how much of a dose exactly you are taking. Are there any extracts where you can powder it up and then weigh it out ? Anyone ever delve into the realms ? I'm not really too motivated to eat a bunch of benadryl to try and simulate this experience, my worst trip was on about 20 hits of blotter - and after I went to hell from the most frightening experience ever, I got up - ate some rolls and had a good day.
