Hi to all.I was having a question and i was wondering if anyone can helo me out.

I recently got some dried poppy pods from a flower shop with the intention of brewing some nice tea.The thing is that the pods are white...they are not coloured but they are not their normal colour, they look like they sat in the sun for to long.It seems like they have been bleached with something.

Are they safe for tea-brewing?Or should i just decoreate the house with them?Any experience?

you never know where the pods have been anyways. But these white pods? forget 'em. store-bought pods are usually treated with some chemicals that are better not to consume.

After researcheaing a bit into plant bleaching and seeing that the chemicals where not to life-thrathening i brewed the tea.The only bad thing that happend was that nothing happend...as i suspected the good chemicals must have been washed away in the process

What do you mean by store-bought pods?Where else to get them, well besides growing your own...http://www.hipforums.com/forums/images/smilies/humm.gif

Get poppy pods off of Ebay. If you are actually in Romania, then you will most likely have to go to www.ebay.co.uk and order off of the UK site, unless there is an ebay.co.ro! either way, you can buy a few hundred good pods for pretty cheap.

there are other internet sources for pods as well, but they aren't as reputable.
