Hey everyone, first time poster here. I have been browsing the opiate forums here for a few days now and decided i might as well try to get an answer from something im a little worried about. I am not sure if this is going to be a 'newb' or 'idiotic' question, but please spare me if that is the case.

I have been taking painkillers for about 3 years. The past year was the worst of the deal, being on mainly all types of OCs about 300 days of the year, and suffering occasionly from dope sickness because of unreliable dealers running out of pills. When this occurs I obtain Suboxen from 'friends' who get scripts but sell them instead of taking them.

It helps the pain indefinitly, but as of late i have decided to slow down with the pills and have been taking Suboxen for about 3-4 weeks (haven't been keeping track). I take about a quarter of an 8 mg Suboxen (anywhere from 1-2mg of it) once a day when the pain kicks in. The problem now is that lately I have been feeling wierd slight pains in my chest, I pay much more attention to my breathing, sometimes i feel faint and dizzy, and sometimes i feel like my heart beat is speeding up and slowing down. This usually happens 7-9 hours after taking my 'dose'.

I was wondering if anybody had any ideas of what I should be looking out for. I have been keeping my drug problem under wraps and would like to try to not get involved with telling anyone and creating a big issue of it. Any help or suggestions would be super appreciated. Again, my brain hasn't been the same as it was 3 years ago, so I really can't even tell if this is a stupid question or not. Sorry to type so much, I get OCD with forum posts.

Thanks

Hey man,

You say you are nineteen right? Do you have insurance? Because if you do, you can go see a doctor at little or no cost to you, and you can tell your doc about everything thats been going on, and ask for really good, medical advice. Because you are over 18, the HIPA privacy act applies, and your doctor CANNOT by law tell your parents anything unless you sign a release saying he can. Also, because of that, you can't get into trouble legally, since he cannot tell anyone about you using drugs w/out a prescription unless it was in some way related to you being a danger to yourself or to others.

Also, your parents won't get a bill from the insurance company unless the doctor's visit isn't covered if you are worried about that, and I'm sure you are smart enough to make sure you go to a doctor who is covered.

Hope that helps.

Also, have you been taking any adderal or amphetamines? taking those can cause the type of cardiac symptoms you mention.

Smart of you to slow down with the pills. They really are no good--the story never ends well. And this is coming from someone who loved them just as much as anyone else, but realized after some time they were hurting them much more than they were helping him. They make you feel good "now", but drain you and cause so much more pain later (and later ALWAYS comes).

The heart rate issue is most likely caused by stress. Drugs can most definitely do this--they cause chemical imbalances in the brain and the central nervous system. At age 19 it is very unlikely that something is wrong with your heart. If you're really worried, however, get it checked out by a doctor.

My advice to you is to get off the drugs altogether, I promise you you'll be happy you did down the road. 19 years old is way too young to be throwing your life away. Quitting is easier said then done, though--and if you have to really want to do it.

Peace,

Haha I was expecting 20 threads of people saying "You idiot! Don't just sit there do something!".

Thanks for the advice fellas, I do have a tendacy to psyche myself out sometimes when something doesn't feel right. But I will definitly go try the doctor thing.

Yeah i know, Im young for the spot im in, i regret it completely, but you know as well as I the evilness of a year-long binge. I got caught in the moment, but im paying for it now.

Thanks again for the advice.

Edit: Oh and @ Verm - I actually took a very small dose of Adderol a few nights ago, after quitting coke and going back about a year ago I started feeling like complete shit when taking any amphetamines. Do you think it could actually be doing that after a few days of a small dose?

Swigz,

Probably not after one small dose. I can imagine that even a couple doses might give you weird cardiac symptoms but just one? doubtful.

But I'd stay clear of any sort of amphetamines for a while
