OK i really really donot care for anyone believing theyre over rated, or not legendary musicians. Because the are. and IMO deffo one of the best, if not THE BEST!

Every single genre/artists ive listened to, and really liked, had songs i didnt.

so say one album has 2 extremely good songs, 2 good songs, and 4 ok songs, and 4 lame songs.

Metallica's black album, every song makes my spine wiggle from auditory orgasms. Ive Dl'ed some documentaries about them, like this one where cameras follow them for 1.5 years.
and theyre all insanely sick people, i mean Lars is just the fucking sickest Danish person i have ever known. James HAD an insanely amazing voice, and Kirk, well... Best solo's ever imo.

I mean ive listened to alot of different musicians, and these guys are just the best shit i have ever heard. and some songs, feel more like fucking heaven then metal, for eg welcome home sanitarium, its just so good. and the whole solo of master of puppets... its legendary imo.

Nirvana inspired me to learn to play guitar, Metallica keeps me inspired to play, and to play amazingly.

cant wait for new album to come out this year

Slipknot? System Of A Down? Marilyn Manson?

And you say Metallica is the training wheels of metal? You just mentioned three artists who only get noticed because of MTV.

Rammstein is good though.

marilyn manson on mtv? when?

granted system is very much so mainstream, and slipknot used to be, but seriously, when was the last time you saw marilyn manson on mtv? jeez, besides being mainstream doesnt take away from talent, i wasnt talking about metallica being on mtv, i was talking about them being what EVERYONE starts with. training wheels.

anyway my fav band is Tool, and they are never on mtv(bastards!!)

but it may interest you about the bands i despise:iron maiden, megadeth, pantera, and of course the kings of overratedness judas priest

but again this is all opinion, and im not trying to start a music war(the reason i no longer post in the music forums(elitist scum))

Well thats a new topic in rock music.your right, i guess that means all of my songs are lame because death has been talked about already:rolleyes: but yea i guess its different in canada, better tv, better gov.

and green of course its opinion, that all music taste is. but i think you should try and listen to more manson, like all of manson, he really does have many good songs.

Im not saying it was lame, I said that it's just been said before.

And I'm pretty sure you were being sarcastic about the canada having better stuff part. (It's hard to tell by reading)

black album is the greatest album ever! Marilyn Manson did get noticed on mtv when he was a teenager he was on there talkin about how he has a band, he looked the same except no make up and kinda dorky lookin but he rules.

The worst Progressive Rock band out there could prolly Solo better than Kirk. I mean his solos sound the same in like every song. If you want to look for some kick ass music MTV should be the last place to look. That channel makes me sick.
Heres some bands with talent:
Magic Pie
King Krimson
Yes
Dream Theater
Plankton
Frost*
Bumblefoot
Those are just a selected few of kick ass Progressive Rock bands

Yes is amazing. They are gods among men. And tool puts on one hell of a live show. I was sober when they saw them and I swear it was the most intense psychedelic show I have ever seen (minus The Flaming Lips)

Yes is amazing. They are gods among men.
Face it, Steve Howe is the greatest stringed intrument musician to ever have lived. It's an objective fact, not an opinion. Relayer has always been my favorite album (obviously lol).
You know their on tour this year right? :D

Never liked Metallica, never will.

you know, when I think of metallica, I could see where they probably wouldn't be that bad, but for some reason I just have this deep burning hatred for them..

ok not hatred but I really just can't get into them. it just sounds really cheesy and their songs repeat the same things over and over again and last forever. a song that last a long time is ok if that song is interesting but damn. repeating a riff 5000 times doesn't make it any better than the first time.

also i've never really heard anything that amazing from the techinically. maybe Im listening to the wrong songs?

oh and btw im going to piss a lot of ppl off when I say this but trivium's master of puppets cover was far superior than the original by metallica.

Most of the metal i've heard I can't stand.
but i've noticed that a lot of the metal bands playing their stuff acoustic are actually really good, i think its because when you take out all the "shred as many notes as loudly as i can in 5 seconds" approach and focus on the actual song its usually pretty good. My 2 cents on metal bands.
