What age is ok for marijuana to start off at?

ok im bout 17 now and i had started off at 11.(smoking weed) i did not start heavily till i was bout 12.Will there be any bad effects because of the age i started?or is it ok to start around 12?

I'd say you started too young but that's just me.. you still had the brain of a child when you started and if you've been smoking heavily since then your adult brain will be developed differently then that of a non-smoker

I'm not much better though i'm 17 and I started when I was 14
and it depends on your personality, level of self-control, etc

More than once a day isn't a good idea at 11 or 12. But unless you've got a history of mental illness in the family, then I doubt it'll come to much.

Ive only been smoking since 16. I know some people consider that a 'late' age to start but i didn't want to smoke because everyone else was doing it so I waited until I was older. That being said I don't think it effects anything, i mean i wouldn't recommend smoking at 11-12 but i doubt it matters.

What matters is keeping your priorities straight and smoking weed after everything important is done. That is the problem with many 11-13 year olds who smoke, they put weed above friends, family and school.

and indeed, there is nothing you can do about it now. IMO 11/ 12 is too young. I started @ 15 nearly 16.

i think that research has pointed out that for developmental reasons it would be best to start at the age of 18 or maybe even later, but yeah, its no suprise that many stoners start when they are younger, blame it on puberty hehe. i myself started at the age of fifteen.

Shit. I started when I was ten. Like doing it every 2 weeks when I got to a friends house. Since I moved I do it way less though. I can't say it affected me at all. I don't think that someon ewho was 12 would have a problem. Your are nowhere near fully developed at that point but you are getting into the whole adult mindset.

I started when I was 16 and if I had it to do over again would wait until I was older. Its too easy for it to become a priority over other things. Getting a better education, make more money, vacation in Amsterdam twice a year. My excuse was I was going to get drafted so enjoy it while I could. A Country Joe and the Fish attitude. Another thing is the establishment uses the young age of kids smoking to block reform of the Marijuana laws. I know your going to do what ever you want but your decisions effect all of us. The M.I.P. penalties are a b***ch, and can keep you from doing things you enjoy, like getting your liscence to drive till your 21 in my state. Just something to think about.

I think it should be 18 that way realistically people would prolly start around 16-17.
