The best lights for Growing Marijuana

I am about to grow 2-4 plants in a small closet. Wondering if anybody could reccomend what kind of lighting i should use.

probly around a 250 watt high pressure sodium.

I'd go with a Metal Halide light and a wide spectrum bulb if I could only have one light.

except halides burn hotter than sodium.


Im still learning but wouldn't it be better to run a sodium with a wide spectrum in it.

Everyone with experience in hid lighting will have a different opinion.A 250 watt hps with a 270 watt super agro hps bulb(1000 more lumens than a standard 250 bulb).The super agros have a wider spectrum with more blues for veg than a standard hps bulb and far superior for flower than MH as Tiedye mentioned produce less heat also as well as longer bulb life.

I like the tighter buds produced by MH.

But given the choice, I'd have MH wide spectrum with a lower wattage HPS supplement.
