It looks like I am going to be moving to San Diego around May-ish. I was wondering if there was anyone here, that might like to take me under their wing?
I am totally new to this whole Rainbow experience thing, but I really would like to give it a shot. Since I will finally be settling down in one place for a while, I would LOVE to make some friends, attend some drum circles or pot lucks, and eventually maybe attend a gathering.. the one this year perhaps? It's been a long time since I have been on the mainland, and my first time living on the west coast, so I am looking very forward to getting out and seeing the sights!!
I am married to a wonderful man, but, since he will be in school, he wont be able to go to the gathering with me this year, if I decide to go. So I am really looking for trustworthy brothers and sisters in San Diego who might be going to the WY, that would be happy to make a new friend and possibly help with "popping my rainbow cherry" :rainbow:
I am a little naive to the whole experience, so I also have alot of questions.. since I already asked some of my most pressing ones elsewhere, I won't bother posting them again... but, to anyone out there, whos willing to show me the ropes....count on the fact that I'm going to be a bit like a 4 year old with all the whats, whys, and hows!!
Well, anyway - I have high hopes about the move and I really hope to make your aquaintances!!! *I'm sooo looking forward to this next chapter in my life!!*:whistling

any time you are in san diego on a sunday, there are usually at least a few, but up to a hundred or more, assorted folks and family standing around in balboa park in the afternoon.

putting "8th ave, balboa park, san diego, ca" into maps.google.com pops a green arrow just about where people park.

if you are going to look from a ride in may from SD to WY, that would be a place to start.

see you there!

The scroll site mentioned in the first post is by far the best info for that area I know of. They are doing "Back to basics" meetings for the next couple of months.
This a cross post from tribe.net from Karin at Scroll.

yeah, 'cept no one ever calls it marston point picnic grove area, or anything like that. it's just that spot in balboa park it's been for a decade or so.

of course, if you've never been there that doesn't help, nor does knowing it's called marsden point picnic area or whatever, and the directions are difficult already, most people say by "6th and laurel", but if you look on the map that's a block or two away, because of the long oneway road there once in the park.

"8th ave, san diego, ca" in maps.google.com pops you right there, with a street view of the parkinglot even. mebbe i can msg or call karin and see if that lil blurb for the technically inclined can be added to the flyers.

there's also the lightline number 619-677-0882 call early, call often, it changes occasionally, msgs that get left get heard. nothing much going on down here other than the sunday things, i have no comment on black's beach, lol.
