Spring won't be here for a bit yet - sometime between end of March and as late as into May - then you have the mud season with no-see-ums - may flies - Carnivarous little buggers. After they disipate the deer flies start a buzzin an bitin and those of us who've lost a good bit of our hair, wear hats.
We'll be havin open house celebratin each season (y'know equinox and solstice - pagan that I am) startin this summer solstice and every one that wants to gather here, have at it - specifics (tel # and directions) are kept non public for now - till community gets on it's feet and legal - but they're just an email request away provided you don't mind honoring our low profile. Bring your own campin gear of course.
Guess I need to post that in communal living as well as my persoal forum (has a better description of what you can expect to find in there - but ya really can't write on how the land hits ya - and it's different for different folk)- have posted it several times elsewhere on these forums - but even as hhb will tell you - people talk of comin but seldom do

Well lamas come, and gone 6 wks till fall equinox. Just letting you all know that we celebrate the season changes and existence with an open house the weekend closest to the actual date of the season change (sat & sun 9/20 & 21).
And I want you to know that you are specifically herein invited - we ask that people let us know when interested and we will e mail our directions and specifics - lets us know if any are coming - we all get busy with our projects and forget to take the time to celebrate the fact that we Are - but iffn you got the time we got a place that i think you might enjoy traipsin through..

Well howdy Sus wondered when you were going to drop in. Was hopin you'd make it up this fall Equinox but saw that too much was goin on. Now you're all the way down into ga....This spring is Muddy - maybe summer solstice gathering (6/19&20/04)?
We're here for you whenever you're ready and have the time to come and set a spell - at your convenience...- And you too FreeSue - don't be strangers - got your own personal invites now !
The public open houses are a permanent feature as long as the Hollow is around (nearest weekend to equinoxes and solstices - may go to nearest full moon but I'll let y'all know).
Hope to go legal this next year but haven't quite come up with the right catch name - hermitage hollow farms cooperative ? - we'll bat that around some this solstice and during the gathering we will include the many who've been sending good energy our way and thank yous.
And thanks for the healing energy sent, helped smooth out a rough spot- yeehaa we're on our Way (see journal *Wending our Way*)!

By all means, feel free to add me to yahoo messenger. Much better than MSN because you can leave messages when I'm off line - and so much on my end depends on many variables as to when I'm available - but I will get around to answering eventually.

I'm not familiar with the laws in New zealand and Australia - but having been in contact with some people from down under - it may well prove to be a more favorable location in finding people of like mind who are willing to act as well as talk about making the dream come true.

Canada already is active in following up, though mostly on the west coast and there are some really neat places that do not fit the normal realm of coldness. Talk to Mtnhighgirl as she seems to be fairly well connected and willing to share info.

In the US there are a lot of people ready in word but they tend to disappear when it comes down to putting action to the words. No judgement intended just observation over the last 3+ years on these boards. Many Doing it in the US have taken to doing it quietly by themselves and opening only to those who show their willingness to act instead of just talk. I'm still willing to drop everything for honest communication, as I consider that to be the most important ingredient in any community, - but, the key word is honest when so many are not willing to actuate and do but only talk about. Too often talking about something spends the energy and leads one to believe that they Are doing when all they are really doing is a form of mental mastubation to assuage an emotional need to feel that they are doing something to make their dreams and visions be in the land of being acted on.
Historically the west area specifacally: parts of AZ, N.M., Co., CA., OR., WA. and Nebraska are more favorable to such endeavors. In the East - many consider the belly of the beast and don't wish to attempt in those less friedly climes - though those are the areas that specifically need it more. Quite some movement in the Ozarks too, but fairly low key.
You may want to plug into the pagan network and find where their communities are actuating - they are a valuable ally.

Good luck to you and don't give up on your dreams or they won't happen.

Yeah, and sometimes I come across as too pigheaded too. I do usually stand behind what I say and as well stand ready to apologize and eat crow publicly when incorrect. Saw some good people get hurt by extending themselves and then just have nothing come of it - over and over. And so I put maybe a little too much energy out there about people being true to what they say and not just add to the babble of me-isms out there. Don't have any major disagreement about Ishmael either - in making any concept our own - in the doing is the telling of just how much that is so - not in the talking.
So let me get off my crackerbox that's breaking down anyway - the soap box wasn't sturdy enough. Ain't got near as much done on the land as planned - but then i'm still putting one foot after the other- even when that includes taking 10 or 20 steps back to go a different angle or try a different method given the parameters of any specific situation.

You get toward or plan on going through the finger lakes in N.Y. state drop us a line and we'll send out directions, location and phone numbers - won't be out for public info until the community is set up legal and the land to complete is bought - and that will be when the people involved deem that important enough and have the financial capability to act and not jeopardize what we have so far. But we are open to visitors with arrangements made ahead to make sure we're available to set a spell (iffn we're too busy to do that, - can't see how but... then we may suggest alternative times) And open house is the weekend closest to season's change (equinoxes and solstices) and those times we are open to one and all - but again ask for advance notice to make sure we're prepared and to give out our particulars (always asking that people respect our desire for privacy) so that you can find your way and we are available should the need be there.

As per usual with every season there is a change and time to take apart and share. So this season we celebrate the start of summer (and hopefully less rain - the drought areas need it and we are still knee deep in mud).
June 19 & 20 (sat & sun) are the times set aside - and any and all are welcome - directions and phone #s are given upon request and are being kept private until the community is legally established - and we do ask how many in your party so that we can be somewhat prepared for whatever number of people.
We always supply the food - though if you have a specialized diet you may wish to bring your own - you supply eating utensils, sleeping gear, and someway of staying out of the weather should the usual near daily deluge hit - we do have some shelters availble but will not have enough if we have more than a dozen show - which has never happened yet - so shelter will probably be available - or you will be notified when you ask for directions.
And those who have already said you are coming, please confirm - and thank you to those who were thoughtful enough to let us know that they had to cancel and could not come.

The things that have happened since I spoke to you last.



Since I spoke to you last oldwolf I have been out om the road gathering a few people who want to join me on the road. This I have done and to bring you up to date the plan is.

I now have a travelling partner, someone who shares my dream and we are going to do it together as having compamy is always a good thing. We are living on a canal narrowboat of which we have a very good relationship with the people who own it. This allows us to move off the boat whenever we are out travelling without paying for it and back on when we want. More like caretakers im a sense. We produce craft and art stuff which we sell and use to fill the time in our days and feed and clothe us.

Over the summer we will be saving up to buy an old horse lorry and converting this to a bender .. a vechilce we can travel and live in. Soit is on the road full time basically.

We have plans to spend 6 months of the year out of this country in communes around the world or on volunteer projects.

I .. now we .. are going down the road I spoke to you about a while ago .. and we still want to come out and see you.

WE will get there and just enjoying the journey at the moment .. the journey in life is what counts.

hey OldWolf, ol'Paint here...the hot air is drying the paint, and soon it will begin peeling on a scarcley shaded wall...yes it's pe5rhaps one of the most important thing in life, the DOing part...'else the paint jsut peels and never gets REpainted, and the soft wood underneath gets rotten and easily succeptable to termite invastions!!!...
it's important to remember the talking has it's place...for a lot of people these Forums people come to cuz they need an outlet...and the talk for them is probibly merely dreaams (at first)...but as we both know you need dreams fore you can make em' reality...
i can say this is true in my case...and also that i am full of the talk! hehe...
and someones ideals and someones reality may lie very far apart, and in bridging this abyss the people on the other side calling will find them when they put themself out there and start makin steps towards the doin it...but for most it is too far and so they say why bother and never even start...
yes...this is why the talking is necessary, at FIRST....but then is the gatherin of the materials and doing the thing.

A brief update: life is going very good down here along the berrier islands of N.C...soon to be moving to galena IL to reunite with my Love this fall after gettin sume much needed surgery in early sept...or sooner, depending on when i get nuff money saved up for the departure...
If time allots i will be making my way up for the Solstice...so I hope to be seein you all INPERSON!!!

Let's see - Eqinox is Wed. Sept 22 - full moon Tues. 9/28 ... Open House is Sat & Sun Sept. 25 & 26. Unfortunately not every member will be able to attend this one - Moving cloud is still locked out of the U.S., so it'll only be Aireal (old crone) and I in so far as the working members go - I'm sure that Moving cloud will be joining us in spirit.
We'd love to have any and all who can make it come - please ask for directions and tel. #s via e mail or PMs if you are planning on coming - It's been another wet wet year but foliage should be at peak (I know I'm prejudiced but the hollow does have the best red maple blaze in the larger area). We do have a few up and running living situations and if past experince holds true you will not need to bring your tents - but I will update if more than we currently have shelter for are coming - or at least let you know when you ask for directions and tel #s.
And maybe we'll even be legal this time (going Co-Op as that seems to put it in the hands of all - concensus governed). Be a busy time with the community center bldg permit (good for 1 yr. before renewing) coming right around that time - hope to have most of the ground prep work on that accomplished by this open house - may even have the water system in (only by default, I must admit - village house looks like it's selling, and yikes there goes water facilities [shower & laundry])
Whatever happens, you all have a marvelous time and Enjoy ! you are after all spending your life energy to Do just exactly what you are doing - Be True to Self and appreciate your life

And time moves on - sometimes at a snails pace, sometimes by leaps and bounds.


Another Gathering time for those who may feel the slightest drawing of likeminded kindred souls calling for a time of sharing.
Most of our gatherings are with only a few people - so we all get to spend some real quality time together. The land is roomy, so if all you wish to do is take a retreat yet be amoung others who focus on Spirit and growing - is a good time/place.

Full moon eqinox Sept 17 & 18.
Put it a few other places - much earlier - this just bumps this thread where a place was put to let people know the specifics as to when.

Price of gas has skyrocketed and hurricane Katrina may have changed the minds of some who were planning on coming - too bad - but we all need to do what we feel is right for us individually - pretty hard to help All grow, iffn we ain't Growin our Self - so we must be true to our Selfs first and foremost. Being True to Self (Spirit) AllWays involves the Whole.
