How did Bob Marley really die?

Ok this is a topic that really pisses me off
does anyone know how Bob Marley died??
my parents told me he got hit by a car,my girlfriends mom said he got shot, my boy said he had brain cancer, my x-gurl said he had toe cancer and refused to cut it off. i been hearing some reall retarded shit so id like to know how he really died.?

he was shot...but was too tough to die...then the cancer got him..the cancer did start in his toe, and he did refuse to have it amputated, then it spread.

people have tried telling me that when bob died they did an autopsy on him and found *however many* species of bugs in his hair [we were talking about dreads and such]. but since he had cancer and eventually underwent chemotherapy, he lost his hair - which his wife made into a wig for him.


so when he died, he didnt really have any hair.

on a side note, i know this guy that was at bob´s funeral and said that he was buried with a bible in his left hand open to the book of psalms and with a guitar in his right hand. he also mentioned lots of other little details about the whole event that were pretty interesting

I think the toe cancer rumor came from this: He was playing soccer, injured his toe badly, went to the doctor to treat it and they found the tumor in his head. I don't know if the above story is true, but he did die of brain cancer.

there's such thing as toe cancer??You can get cancer basically anywhere on your body, including bones and skin. Toe cancer might not be so bad if you find it early(I'm sure most of us can lead a normal life with 9 toes) but if someone is to die of toe cancer, it's most likely the cancer spread to other parts of the body.

it was from some type of cancer toe brain whatever and he could of lived from it but he did not want it treated and how many types of bugs do you think youll have in your hair when you die

like whoever said before, cancer in his toe spread and then he had brain cancer. he was shot though. and i did hear that he had like 17 different types of lice in his hair.

Its absolutely true about the cancer starting in his toe...i saw a great documentary about his life, and he was saying he wouldn't have his toe removed becaus the rastafarians believe you should not cut things off of yoiur body, you should stay the way god intended you to be.

How many bugs do you possibly think Bob could've had in his hair...and if so how could that be possible if he supposenly had cancer, which would mean that he had no hair...and if he was wearing a wig..how many bugs do you think were in that wig...thinking about it this sounds kinda funny...hehe...

I love Marely...he cracks me up...Definitely one of the best of his times...along with Morrison and Hendrix...and Jane...they're are great...they all have such interesting lives...I worship them..especially Hendrix...I adore him....

you only lose your hair if you go through chemo, and he never had chemo therapy...

Ironically the form of cancer Marley died from can't be contracted by black people but the fact that his father was white was the reason he was able to get it. Marley himself was ashamed of this and kept it quiet.

African americans are just as susceptable to melanoma as white folk, commonly starting on the sole of the foot or in nail beds.

What really happened was that bob was playing soccer and ripped open a sore on his big toe, so don taylor and rita marley convinced bob to get the nail removed to help it heal faster. The exposure of the nail bed is what gave him cancer, and on his last world tour bob stopped following his doctor's orders to keep the cancer in remission (a diet consisting of 8 ounces of liver a day and various vitamins). The cancer spread and he died.

If you want to read a very good, unbiased biography, read "marley" by don taylor. In spite of a parting of the ways late in bob's life Don was one of bob's better friends, and actually took a couple bullets for bob. Also, he doesn't skirt bob's use of ganja, like so many rock-ographies seem to be doing today.

They say Bob died from Melanoma which he got when he was playing soccer in Europe and got cut or something on his toe where it developed. He took some precautions but the cancer had spread all throughout his body and killed him.


There are a bunch of theories about assasination plots and conspiracies by the CIA or a political party who saw it at their interest to kill Bob..... but that's a whole different thing.
