Id consider myself friends with some of the regulars on here. But everyone is scattered over the coutry, so its hard to actually meet with people.

I say we have a first annual hipforums convention or something to that extent. several days of the outdoors, canvas tents, music, and all the people who make this forum what is is.

Hah I want to entertain myself with the thought of planning for a hipforums convention. I say we elect delegates from each state to go to a planning commision. Personally I elect mynameisjake07 for the Michigan chapter delegate.

well the whole "hipforums gathering" thing has been attempted no fewer than,,6 times,by at least 3 different groups. i think the most forum members at any of them was,,,6??
and that was one of ours..
we do a get to gather here every year, always post about it here. never more than a couple show..
as far as meeting forum members,,i know we are easily over 15..
like dilli said,to many to remember at this point..

I've met 8 people in person whom I met over the forums, 12 total but I knew them before I ever came here. I've eaten mushrooms and acid with 4 of them, and smoked weed with pretty much all of them. All amazing, open minded, beautiful people :)

Green and Deadhead (my fellow Yes fan ;) ) you are both MORE than welcome to come stay at my place, shit, stay as long as you want! Im trying to turn my place into a all-enclusive, all loving, all religions spirituality temple for meditation, love and peace! Anyone and everyone is welcome, at any time. But the people looking for a spiritual LSD trip, well we would have to make some special arrangements ;)
Love you both my friends!

The last trip I went on, about 2 months ago, was on 8 hits of some extremely potent stuff. Not the craziest, not even close to, trip I've had, but definitley one full of memories. I took it at home by myself, just watching time go by for hours and hours. :)

Resources man... and time to do it. It's the time factor that slows me. What vacation time I do have I like to spend with family in Maine. If my work stays in business a couple more years I'll have a bit of excess vacation to play with then I could be in on a sort of get together with hipforumers... maybe be presumptuous and take HHB up on his offer. I like to work! :D

Where are you at?
hippiehillbilly

we are in the north georgia mountains, easiest way to find where we are at is where NC,TN and GA come together,we are just south, southwest of there, north, northwest of ellijay georgia.
we used to have a web site as we have a long standing tradition of opening our home to folks as a way station..
sadly, the bliss ninneys became to much for us to tolerate on such a scale as we are a working farm.albeit a small farm there is still a huge work load here most of the year.
we have a policy for guests who stay more than 3 days. we require they do 2 hours work around here a day for there meals, etc.
it became painfully obvious that many who found us on the web were just looking for a free ride so we dropped it..
we still open our home up,we just dont announce it so loudly to the world anymore...

^^^I agree^^^
It's tough to feel as though you've really connected with someone if they're changing their whole schedule to accommodate you or leaving you to kick around underfoot.
OTOH... work with them and you get a true sense of who they are.

oh a lot of folks come eager to help, however they seem to have a need to be looked over the entire time, when quite frankly tilling a garden or shoveling shit does not require a audience, and usually there are other things dilli or i can be doing at the same time..
it seems with a lot of folks if your not right there with them they just wont do..
then theres the ones who are eager but have there list of things they dont like doing, such as,splitting wood, gardening, afraid of animals, dont like yard work, and one of the classics here,,allergic to the sun..
hello,, just why in the fuck did you come here then?

oh then theres the schedule thing,,we live farm hours,, late sleeping in for us is 5:30 AM..
if theres chores to be done we are out doin as soon as its light enough to see.. usually by noon we are pretty much done for the day..then ya have joe so in so, walkin up from his tent askin about coffee and wondering what we are doin today.....
ummm,, then ya gotta explain to them why they need to spend 2 hours working by themselves..

People come to visit and most folks I know will balk at being put to work- especially on a solo project. I'm not one to object.. although I'll prefer to be assigned something I know a little about and for the record, splitting wood is one of my favorite chores. Beggars can't exactly be choosers thought and there's some value to being a gracious guest.

I can imagine... and I'm glad to have amused dilli. A day just isn't complete until I've made someone laugh deliriously.
I can type endlessly about my work ethic but I'm sure everyone'll tell you that they bust their ass as well so how's about I talk about my greedy self-absorbed slacking parasite leanings so that your surprise can be pleasant should the occasion present itself that I stumble onto your cabin? :)
