This is sort of in response to the post about having an unlimited supply of meds. I was just curious, do most of you guys get your meds from a doctor? My company recently switched insurance plans and I'm now allowed 300+ tablets PER DOSAGE of Oxycodone within a 25 day period. In other words, a patient can fill 120 tablets of Oxycodone 10/325 on Monday and then fill another script for 120 tablets of Oxycodone 10/650 on Tuesday (or even later the same day for that matter)--and only pay $10 for each. In addition, the insurance will approve a new script of the same medication/dosage after 75% is used, so you never run out of medication. I've been on Oxycodone for a long time now for a chronic condition and still manage to maintain pretty much the same daily dosage. Perhaps my definition of unlimited access is a bit different but, based on my situation, I don't have to worry about acquiring meds which is a relief--although I do somewhat monitor my daily intake. I think if I were to take more than what I do now I would be too tired to function. I know a lot of people use opiates purely for recreation and can't simply walk into a doctor's office and get a script for 180 Oxycontin but, if you have a condition that warrants pain medication, I would think it's less expensive to pay for an insurance plan each month. I was also wondering what peoples' experiences have been with doctors prescribing pain meds. Do a lot of you find that most doctors are unwilling to prescribe these meds? For example, if you had a legitimate condition and asked for Percocet, would they be more likely to start you out on Vicodin? Just curious.

No, I pay $10 per script, no matter what the quantity.

Im not currently on a perscription plan, nor have I ever been, but every time I was given a perscription for painkillers after surgery or accidents, it was a hassle. Except the wisdom teeth. And I have no insurance but it always cost me right around $10.00 for generics. My sons mom gets them perscribed for back pain and has for quite some time now, but she can only get it refilled once a month. Also for $10.00
