there was supposed to be a poll

oh dear
am too tired

the options were:

1.useless coward?
2.failure as a politician?
3.mistreated before he could get into the swing of being PM?
4.I don't care; he'll never be as good as Margaret Thatcher.
5.politics frighten me and I just wish I was a buttercup
6.other (please comment)

oops

isnt it ironic that polling failed on the subject of british politics.

whatever you think of gordon brown there is no way you could seriously call him a moron - that guy has got so many academic qualifications he shits books!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_brown
this is when he was 21
In 1972, while still a student and with strong connections with the previous Dean of Admissions, Brown was elected Rector[19] of the University of Edinburgh, the convener of the University Court. Brown served as Rector until 1975, and he also edited The Red Paper on Scotland.[20] From 1976 to 1980 he was employed as a lecturer in Politics at Glasgow College of Technology. After that he worked as a journalist at Scottish Television, later serving as current affairs editor until his election to parliament in 1983.[21]

hes booksmart but not in tune with the world thats more important

booksmart no thats not in the oxford dictionary are you American, they have all those sort of words over there I believe
Its a bit like saying "Oh Gordon Browns just a four eyed swatty twat who knows fuck all". I think he knows more than most people on this forum, certainly knew enough about the world to get to the top of the money making tree in Britain - and wipes his arse on the rest of us !

Not an easy thing to do is become the PM of the UKespecially when it's just handed to you on a plate,
and you don't have campaign for the public vote!!

but, srsly,
i live in Fife, and he lived in Queensferry, not that far from me (now he's in London most of the time obv),
and there is a little fishing village known as Dysart,
and he was there, and my brother-in-law is in college and works with the Labour Party and a part of that,
so I've met and shook hands with Gordon Brown.

and, yes, he is a well-educated man,
or possibly well-learned is a better adjective --
there is no dispute there.

but one cannot just say that he is a good leader because he is well-educated
as i believe your defensive retort to "Gordon Browns just a four eyed swatty twat who knows fuck all" was implying your stance.

hitler was well-educated
hitler was a war hero -- is Gordon Brown a war hero? No.
hitler was well-read (which btw, is a synonym of "booksmart", it IS a word in Britain. Buy a bigger dictionary. Read the Daily Herald, it appears there from time to time)
but none of these things meant that Hitler was a particularly succesful governer
he was just a dictator
who when people wouldn't join him, decided to force them to his bidding.

like a child.

now, I realise I just compared Gordon Brown to Adolf Hitler,
but my point is made.
having a high standard of education does not mean you will be good at running a country and knowing the voice of the people and responding properly.

are you, by chance, a pro-Labour person, Rah?
you sound it.
you just tried to justify his career and dignity by blowing smoke up his arse.

I am glad that labour are now implimenting an Aussie immigration points system. Order to chaos, long awaited, but we get there in the end. This doesn't mean that I like Gordon Brown though.

moron

Maybe he meant Gordon is a Moron.

Well educated is not always synonymous with intelligent.

i see Rah has not replied to my attack on his personality

pourqoui?
has he/she, like Labour, changed the subject and ran away from the real issues?

Yeah, it was a crying shame that there was no choice in Blairs successor, and the party didn't even get to choose. We could have had a socialist prime minister rather than a re-painted conservative.

We didn't actually vote him in...therefore he shouldn't be in. Prime minister by hand-me-down is just not cool
