Xmas poll and FOOD!

I just wrapped the last of the presents for my family. I have a lot more than I thought I would, but Jade probably has like less than 10. Since she's getting tons of stuff from my family this year. I guess I'll have to clean out her room.

I did my xmas food shopping yesterday. I bought all of the stuff I need to make chocolate banana cream pie which is a banana cream pie with a layer of melted chocolate over the pie crust. And my caramel popcorn, and chocolate drizzled popcorn which I can't make until Sunday. :( I'm also making 2 of my famous carrot cakes. Which are made with pureed carrot, and crushed pineapple. A thick and creamy homemade cream cheese frosting, sprinkled with chopped walnuts.

I should also make a couple of cookie trays for my neighbors, but I've been feeling lazy on baking. If I do I'll make hidden cookies which are store bought cookies wrapped in sugar cookie dough that I bake with a little egg wash and chopped pecans on top. Chocolate covered peanut butter fudge, and I make faboulous pizelles!

I do all of this while taking care of a 16 month old, and cleaning the house at the same time. And somehow I find time to smoke inbetween these chores.

Merry Fucking Christmas right.

So anyway what is your favorite thing about Christmas?

i love hangin with the family and eating all the delicious food!! presents are great too dont get me wrong but i love to eat and enjoy the company.

i love food, espiecally on christmas eve when i go out to my grandpa's where he orders a bunch of dishes of this really tasty food, and the next day is chrismas, so i always have presents to look forward to.

you sound so busy! it makes me wanna wait awhile before i think to start a family, lol.. i dunno if i'd be able to do all that busy stuff!

and you make pizelles. oh god, those things are my favorite.. nobody in my family likes them though, so they never get made :(



but anyway, i like everything about christmas.
i like being around my family and friends, and just eating a ton of food, i like buying gifts for people and receiving them.. and i love decorating and baking and all that good stuff.

I love food for the holidays. We're going down to Louisiana this year to visit relatives as usual. First we eat at my Maw Maw's house; she's a great cajun cook. She always insists on cooking, like she has everyone year, even though she's getting old and it tires her out. After that it's off to my aunt's house. She and my uncle are great cajun cooks, and my uncle owns a catering business. :D

So it's eating all Christmas day for me and mine.

But yeah, I love everything about christmas, the cooking, the decorating, the family, the eating, giving and receiving.

I was such an ogre last year, but this year I'm really looking forward to christmas.

Yay I'm glad you guys like all of the cooking and baking and family aspects like I do.

I just finished the popcorn. Well it still has to be stirred in the oven one more time, but it's coming out great. This batch is for my neighbors. I have to make another batch on sunday to give to my family. But it was pretty easy to make this year. Also the pizzelles came out so pretty. I sprinkled powdered sugar on them. :)



Wandering soul, That is so cool that you've got so many cajun cooks in your family! Sounds like such a fun holiday!

My mom, my sisters and I cook too. But we cook different kinds of things, not just cajun food. :)
