if you have it, you probably know it. and there are different types. so before you go freaking people out, give them the facts. and I got it from my mom, long before I was sexually active, so ha! and, yes its a virus, and it doesn't go away, it lies dormant. it is unlikely to get it from a blunt/ joint, but only if the sores are open. AND if you have a cut or opening in your mouth. bit your lip? dont smoke.

but hey, if you wanna lock yourself in your room and never come out, lest you accidentally contract a virus most people have, be my guest. when the super virus comes along, I'll be ready, and you won't.

It's usually in the back of my mind when I'm sharing joints and stuff with people, but I also don't just smoke with anyone either. Maybe I used to, but not now. It's like a select few people who are special enough for me to smoke with, and I completely trust their mouths. ;)

Plus I was tested for everything under the sun when I was pregnant and I was completely clean.

If any of you bothered to look up the facts on HSV you'd find it is very contagious and can be transferred when there is no outbreak occurrence. There are also different types, some much worse than others. It is true that most of us end up with some form of HSV.

I am not against smoking, I've been a smoker on and off for 20 years and luckily I have never had an HSV sore. I have noticed sores on every one of my friends who smoke, I am the only one who will usually not share a joint. We have a close family member who has very bad HSV due to a carefree life style. And let me tell you, when you catch your 7 year old drinking from the same straw as a person with very bad HSV you will be "not so care free" to say the least at that moment, especially if you know the facts!!
