I was just wondering... the way music can influence a trip, what songs would make a trip really terrifying? Like with the lyrics or whatever. I was thinking 'For the Benefit of Mr. kite' by the beatles- I think its weird :) what about everyone else?

Use white rabbit from Jefferson Starship, or the entire Wall album from Pink Floyd. Use music that has very indepth meaning.

Strange. I have always thought it's Jefferson Airplane but I just googled Starship and I think you're right http://www.hipforums.com/forums/images/moresmilies/huh.gif

Anyway, White Rabbit is a really cool song to listen on Salvia. I would also suggest something dark like experimental noise if you want a bad trip LOL.

If you want pure psychedelic sonic horror, there can really only be one ultimate choice for you. That is the German Electronic Body Music (E.B.M.; a.k.a. electro-industrial) act :Wumpscut:, by a one Rudy Ratzinger (as well as occational guest artists). :Wumpscut: is the essence of H. R. Giger's futuristically hellish vision put into musical form. If weirdness is what you're after, his music has it in spades (not to knock the Beatles, as I greatly enjoy many of their works [especially during their acid-eating days], but their music was never anywhere near this strange, nor anywhere near as horrifying).

I here present a trinity of songs by :Wumpscut: for your listening pleasure, available for download below:

"Womb (Born Again Remixx)" by :Wumpscut:, from the remix album Born Again http://www.plunder.com/Womb-Born-Again-Remixx--download-92255.htm

"Embryodead" by :Wumpscut:, from the album Embryodead http://www.plunder.com/Embryodead-download-100066.htm

"War" by :Wumpscut:, from the album Embryodead http://www.plunder.com/War-download-100073.htm

Below are the albums available for purchase, in which the above songs are from:

Embryodead by :Wumpscut: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000005OPZ

Born Again by :Wumpscut: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000005OQH

The above album Embryodead, and the remix album Born Again, are both considered classics in the genre of electro-industrial.

The above three songs chronicle the life of a child, from conception in the first, to nascence in the second, and finally to adulthood in the final (i.e., in the order presented above).

Since the peak of the Salvia divinorum trip lasts about the duration of one of these songs, one may pick one's poison from among them, or trip three times, listening to them in succession.

Below are the lyrics to the above three songs:

##########

"Womb" by :Wumpscut: (the below lyrics are taken from the album version, i.e., from the album Embryodead)

Here I am I am your child
Lying safe and warm in your womb

Billions of women were ambushed by me as I am the unwanted life
And I lurk in your body and I lurk in your womb

Here I am I am lying in your womb I am your child an unwanted child
I do not care about anything else but me and you think about killing me
Forget about that I will be with you for the rest of your miserable days

Oh and now you're crying I never wanted you to cry about me
But I do exist and you have to take care about that
For the rest of your miserable days

----------

"Embryodead" by :Wumpscut:, from the album Embryodead

"Hier sind doch irgendwo Kinder versteckt ich wittere sie ich werde Sie aufspüren wenn meine Nase mich nicht täuscht sind Sie dort Sie müssen ganz in der Nähe sein das spüre ich"

You're in a mess 'cause this is the end
God he cannot bless not leading your hand
In your mother's womb you feel warm and safe
But that's a fallacy 'cause this is your grave
Do you want to feel how hard it can be
Vegetating flesh was always the fee
For living in this pain and agony
'Til the devil comes and fetches will glee

Kommt heraus
Embryodead you will go mad let's ease your pain
Embryodead you are condemned
Don't attempt to exist in this world full of hate

"Man braucht nur zu wissen wo man Sie zu suchen hat Sie müssen ganz in der Nähe sein das spüre ich diese Nase hat mich noch nie getäuscht in meinem Leben noch nicht und wenn ich die Kinder hier entdecke fange ich Sie in meinem Netz und du wirst bestraft"

Do you want to feel how hard it can be
Vegetating flesh was always the fee
For living in this pain and agony
'Til the devil comes and fetches with glee
You're in a mess 'cause this is the end
God he cannot bless not leading your hand
In your mother's womb you feel warm and safe
But that's a fallacy 'cause this is your grave

Kommt heraus
Embryodead you will go mad let's ease your pain
Embryodead you are condemned
Don't attempt to exist in this world full of hate

"Kinder euer Hoheit Grässliche Kreaturen furchtbar furchtbar tückisch Ausländer natürlich"

Child do not ask me to decide 'cause it's me who can tell you
How hard it is to live 'cause it's me who can tell you
How hard it is to give without any reason without any sense

Embryodead you will go mad

----------

"War" by :Wumpscut:, from the album Embryodead

And suddenly there was war we didn't remember it
A long time forgotten there suddenly was war
And suddenly there was war our children are dead
Burnt in the ruins that were left by war

War

And suddenly there was war and the mothers they screamed
For revenge and reprisals for another war
And suddenly and suddenly
And suddenly there was war with spoiling and death
And you fight alone if there's another war

Whole life is war and whole life is pain
And you will fight alone in your personal war

War

This is war

War

Below is the Embryodead album dedication, from the Embryodead album liner notes:

""
Embryodead is dedicated to all foetus acting wisely enough to die in their mother's womb before they could be thrown into this cruel world of blind hate. May they never know how hard it is to live without any reason, without any sense.
""

Speaking of H. R. Giger, below is a painting presented for your contemplation as you listen to the above songs: "The Spell III" by Hans-Rüdiger Giger, 1976 (usually attributed as "The Spell IV" due to an apparent typo in H.R. Giger's Necronomicon*):

I once smoked some salvia while listening to Selected Ambient Works Volume II by Aphex Twin. I'd heard that salvia usually works best with minimal sense input, and it wasn't a breakthrough experience but was the most interesting experience I've had with salvia (I've never managed a breakthrough). I smoked several bong hits in quick succession, holding the smoke in as long as I could each time, then laid down on my bed. I experienced a series of sensations of seeing/being in various scenes/places, nothing otherworldly, just scenes you might see in real life, but which I didn't recognise. It was almost like being on a train and seeing places go by. Then the CD skipped and I was jerked right back to normality :)

No, you're right, it is Airplane. I think they changed their name to Starship a few years later or something. But when they made White Rabbit, it was Jefferson Airplane.

Why whould you want to make a trip "really terrifying"? That would just suck ass. I've never had a bad trip, but I have friends that have and they say it is the absolute worse.

Given that you're quite curious as to what everyone thinks on this matter, let me here ask you, mrkite: what did you think of the three :Wumpscut: songs I posted above? Are they scary and weird enough for you?

If you REALLY want to be scared use music from "Come to Daddy" from Aphex.

I have experimented with large doses of Salvia 10x and different music types. My first experiment was with ambient techno/electronica(Sirius Ch.35 Chill.) This was pleasant for about 5 seconds whensome of the high pitched electronica kicked in, speaking to me. Although it was only various beeping and whirring, it said "Mom says lie in bed, Mom says lie in bed," over and over. I think this was myself telling myself to lie down, as to not hurt my self. Lyrics heard while on Salvia have a profound effect on the trip, as every word is directed to YOU, and everything they say makes perfect sense. So choose carefully.
