LSD Tolerance

So whats the deal with tolerance to LSD?

How quickly does it build, how quickly does it go away, anybody know?

The reason I ask, is because Thursday night I dropped 3 hits of acid and had a blast. I've still got 5 more and I wanted to trip again tonight... if I up my dose to 4 hits, will I still have a strong trip, or should I take all 5? Or should I stick to just 3 again- will be roughly the same strength after only a day?

Just need some input here, Ive tripped on acid only a handful of times, and until now my trips were spaced out over the course of months.

Any help is much appreciated, the quicker the better, as I'm hoping to drop around 8-9PM tonight, thanks in advance :)

if you tripped last night and you want to trip again tonight - even if you took all 5 hits you would still get no where near as high as you did last night.

i tripped the day after a trip once. friday i took 5 hits. the next day i took 10 hits that hardly hit me and took another 20 hits 4 hours later. it was a complete waste of lsd. i had an alright trip and i did get pretty high. but it was not the same as when you wait a few days to a week.

for best results - wait 1-2 weeks and trip.

if i had an unlimited supply of LSD i might consider tripping a few nights in a row. with the price and availability i would say it is better not to waste it.

I don't think a tolerance really exists in any physical form, I think it's all psychological. You are probably kind of used from the previous night, or are still in the after effects of any strong 'realizations' you made during a trip.. Therefore it'd be just like taking more to be kind of stronger of what after effect you are already feeling.. Or you are just used to the temporary mental state you are in. Why else would almost all the psychedelic substances have cross tolerance?

Well it just seems probably in my opinion. I have doubled / tripled doses only days after with 2ce/lsd and had shitty trips. I just say give it a good week - week and a half to be back to regular conscious and ready to trip again.

Actually, I tripped Wednesday night, my bad.

So if I were to take 5 tonight it wouldnt really hit me nearly as strong as the 3 hits wednesday night? I found a connection and purchased a whole 10 strip for just 45$ (and made $15 back by selling 2), so I'm not really all that worried about the wasted money- I just dont wanna do it if its gonna be completely lame.

I have a connection now, so I can always get more, and as long as you think I'll have a good time, its worth it to me- as I havent got shit to do tonight.

I feel like I'm back to my regular state of mind, yesterday I could still feel the acid lingering for a few hours in the morning when I woke up, but it wore off pretty quickly and after that I was straight. Today, I feel completely back to myself though. So does anybody know for certain how long acid stays in your system?

Also note I'm not the type of guy who does acid for an intensely visual trip- a few hits (enough to make me feel incredible and open up my mind) is plenty for me. Ive only really had blatantly intense visuals on acid once, and it really started to freak me out more than anything. So as long as I'll get the mental trip, and the body high, I'll be satisfied.

I always here people say "I took more acid than anyone" type of shit and then it comes out that they did 1 hit then 3 the next night, then 7 the next, then 20 the next. Seems to me that if they would have taken 3 the first night they would have had a much more profound experience.

My opinion: If you took 3 on Thursday, you'd need 6 on Friday (and it'd still be a little weak). Since you actually took the 3 on Wednesday, 5 on Friday might not be too bad. You'd probably get pretty hammered. However, it sure would be great to wait unitl next weekend and eat 2.5, then another 2.5 the following weekend.

You're high for 8-12 hours. It stays in your system for 2 days I think.

There is a tolerance for LSD, believe me. Three years ago there was a summer (GO FIGURE!) and I ended up eating on average 6 hits a day, every day. The first week was amazing, after that if I ate any less than 4x the amount I ate the day before, I'd trip for 15 minutes and I'd be sober again.

This is why I need liquid LSD, although at this rate I'd like ANY lsd.

LSD has the most wildly fluctuating tolerance out of any drug i have ever tried. If you want to trip the next day after already tripping you need to at least double the dose...i usually double it and add on an extra hit. Even then, the visuals and geometric/colorful web of being isnt nearly as pronounced.

When i dose i usually take 2 or 3 on a wack, wait till the peak passes, then eat 3 or four more. Once the peak has subsided, the chance of peaking with the same intensity off a redose is unlikely. It usually just prolongs the trip.

I am actually going to go against the majority opinion and say that I have tripped two days in a row before on the same dose and had almost exactly the same trip. I realize this is a minority, but I pretty much trip face every time I eat good L, even if it's only on two hits the day after eating two hits. I don't doubt that tolerance exists, very strongly for some people, but I personally wouldn't eat all five of my remaining hits to trip again. I would just eat two or three and have a good time and save the rest for later. You must have already made your decision, but for future reference...

its best to wait 3 days after the then chemical can take effect again. if you take it and then try to take it a day later it won't take effect.

It's best to wait at least 10-14 days, and in my opinion, ideally one would only trip a couple of times per year (I find that the potential for growth and introspection is greatest when this is the case), but you can certainly trip face for many days in a row. Leary, Alpert, Metzner, and others tripped for weeks at a time. Of course they had a wicked tolerance by the end, but you can certainly trip two days in a row.

By the way - keep in mind that when I say that I tripped hard off of two hits two days in a row, these are very serious hits we are talking about - at least 150 mics per hit, maybe more like 200 or 250, which probably makes a difference. If I had tripped on 80 mikes one day and 80 the next, I might have seen a serious decrease in trip intensity.

In my experience, tolerance is a bitch. I dosed 3 hits on a tuesday night and tripped face. The next week I dosed on wednesday with another 3 hits of the exact same LSD and it wasn't even half as profound as the first trip.

That is just another proof that LSD is not like other drugs. All other drugs, if you like it soo much and pop some more, more or less you'll be like the first time, but with LSD, sorry but no. Yes you can pop double dose next day and even more, but you won't get that same feelings like the first day, so why wasting good LSD. But what is more important, it is forcing you to stop for some time, ideally few weeks, and that gives you enough time to realize what you've been throught. If it wasn't like that, plenty of people would be dosed for days and actually end up "waking" up not knowing what happened to them, not mentioning profound and enlighten discoveries, there would be more abusers of drug than users. It is teaching you to use it, to use it wisely, not regularly like any other pill or similar shit, and to respect it, and most of all, to be happy with what you had (or have) without "moooooore" feeling.
