i just saw them on the glasto highlights...they were live on tv then accually (not that im bitter twisted and generally annoyed that i couldnt go to glasto [through my own lazy arseness] and have to watch it on tele constantly, shouting stuff like "get off the stage your wankers") aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnyway

i didnt like them, bit whinney and annoying. the singer needs a good slap

slap the singer from Keane sounds like a great idea for a reality T.V show couldn't be worse than Big Brother anyway.

After listening to a Keane song, does it leave you feeling any different?
I fail to find any progression in any of their songs, they just don't go anywhere.
it's just the same old market for what people like driving to, they'll end up in clothes shops on repeat....

Is no one else seriously freaked out by the lack of guitars???????? I don't understand  everyone loves guitars, right? WHERE ARE THE GUITARS????
And as for the lead singer being 'cute', I disagree completely! He has a very annoying face. He looks like he should be a 7 year old choir boy. And the drummer swings his head about in a strange way when he's playing. In fact so does the keyboardist. Gawd, they all annoy me. I tried to watch them on the T in the Park highlights, but physically couldn't.
In conclusion, Keane are a very annoying band with NO GUITARS.

they are a pathetic excuse for popular music and unfortunately one that many seem to be buying into.

Yep, for any fans of Keane, you've been had, its middle of the road pap thats been hyped up for a quick buck for some record co. exec. the guys voice aint bad but come on, its hardly inspiring stuff now is it? I don't know but they look and sound like a bunch of middle class college kids messing about in their garage to me?!

arent they awesome? I love their tunes. they're a bit overplayed but i still like their songs. "bedshaped" is beautiful.

i'll get their album as soon as i get a little money from heaven.

I wouldn't bother if I were you ;)

First I heard of Keane was with 'Somewhere Only We Know' which I thought, and still think, is a hell of song! I like it a lot. Then there was 'Everybody's Changing' which again had a lot of charm.

Then I saw them at Glastonbury and had to walk away after a bit. The same simple piano lines repeated song to song did my head in. My brother in law gave me their album on the weekend and it's not good at all really.

I think they knew they were on to a winner with the chosen singles and basically filled the album with less good tracks in keeping with the same old formula. In a word, dull.

John how dare you:p

I however actually love Keane... Not really my normal cup of cha.. but I love them.... saw them at glastonbury and they blew my mind.. even tho I had a strop because of all the tall people in front of me:p

I'll be seeing them in Novemeber at southampton... Oh I cannie wait!!

I LOve em:D

Oh I dare alright. I dare super-style :D

(Whatever that means!)

I think...Even if I thought every track on there was as good as 'Somewhere Only We Know' *which I certainly don't* - After a month or so I'd still not want to hear the album for another year!

It's just a bit boring I think. They don't seem to have many ideas

I was trying to think of some decent acts which might compare to Keane, obviously the likes of Coldplay, Travis and Sherly Crow cropped up! But then so did the word decent and I was back to square one...

Anyway, for that Keany pop/rock style, I thought maybe these...

The Verve
Echo & The Bunnymen
Grandaddy
Beth Orton
Suede
Paul Weller
Lowgold

There's bits of these all over what Keane do. It's certainly where your money is better spent I reckon :) - All superior to Keane, to me I'm afraid.

Hello this is not that much of a friendly post,

I have merged these Keane threads together because there have been three of them now saying the same thing. Sorry but if it happens again I shall be closing threads. it's just repetition and it is a tad annoying.. I would do the same if it were posts slagging the band off. I don't want to loose friends by doing this but I am just trying to make the forum run well.

Thank you and I hope you are not too mad at me. I shall be doing the same with other threads in the future.

Love, Peace and Happiness,

lets get this right..

keane are just another indie band, their hardly original, new, or innotive.

frankly the singer is a whiney pile of poo.

and whoever said they compare to paul weller is just foolish, i mean come on

the writer of classic hits such as eton rifles, a town called malace, going underground, the changingman, wild wood, and peacock suit, amounst hundreds of other ones, and a man who has influenced a whole new generation of music.

i seriously doubt that keane will be looked back in the same way that paul weller was.

i mean come on people, there are about a million better bands out there, and the lead singer is possibly the most vile looking sack of shit i've seen in a fair while.

(that wasent ment to offend anyone by the way! hehe! sorry if it did)

...i mean come on people, there are about a million better bands out there... (that wasent ment to offend anyone by the way! hehe! sorry if it did):) No offence taken here. I was only comparing Keane to the bands I mentioned because they make similar music. That's not to say it's anywhere near as good, I mean, I did say they're all superior to Keane.

I was just suggesting before you go out and buy the Keane record, give these other bands a whirl because chances are you'll like them. And hopefully like them a hell of a lot more! "...certainly where your money is better spent".
