View Full Version : she's an avalanche

every movement someone else
calmly forced over and all else in hiding
when she came down crowded mountain
speaking twisted and thunderous tongues
she cored our hearts with her nails
and she laughed
how could we ever be crushed
are these altitudes so pressureless
across her face and wintery breath
a mystery born as is, up there
end product of some lost spirit's struggle
glimpsed for a day among millions
afraid to be friends
finally remembered anonymous
like breath in winter air goes
spreads out to nothing goes
of course there will be breathing
we always fill then something exits
these moments come and go in blinks
so no one knows and no one sees
if in our hearts we are really nothing
only moving too fast to be sure
like an uncertain climber knows tremendous duress
in the mist and the rocks and dead foliage swirled
eyes going up to see only her
then she's memory, the only return
random echoes in spiralled-out place
ascending the rocks alongside the hordes
those dreamless pushers
with sour look of entitlement
bearing uncrushable burdens of ice,
reflections invisibly crowning each peak
like diamonds shine brilliant and heartless
with each wobbly finger in each freezing crack
these stones sharpened vicious and still--
unbreakable footprints matched to our own,
we slip when we try to fit in.
