Ok, my friend wants to grow outdoors because he lives out in the country.

He's found a nice place near a creek, and he can get some seeds.

Basically we have no clue what to do. I'm thinking regular water a fertilizer would be a good start.

Does anyone have any advice?
How long between harvests should we be expecting?

Edit:

Opps, forgot to ask, how many plants should we be aiming for? We need something that'll bring an alright harvest but not be too much work.

Dude, there is tons of info on the web and books from stores. Do a google search, read the growers bible, and then ask specific questions.

just kick some dirt around and and toss some seeds on the ground and let nature take its course

But if you follow this method, don't expect any harvest. Buy a grow book and read it.
