How did you propose to your spouse or how did your spouse propose to you?
I'll go first:
We were mowing the church yard for dating money (it took two days). The first day was July 4 and she just knew I was going to propose to her but did not that day. The next day (July 5) I asked her to go shooting with me out on her father's farm after mowing. This was in 1984. We collected the guns and drove the old pickup out there. I set her down under a tree (she actually sat in an ant bed). I had made a list of things to tell her; of which sounded like I was breaking up with her (she was crying and squirming [from ants] by the time I got to the end of my list; at which time I pulled the ring out of my Tony Lama boots and asked her to marry me. I had on a stetson hat and a gunslinger belt. Of course she accepted but we promised her dad it would be many years before we actually got married. We set the date within a month for December of that same year. When we told her dad, he spat his tobacco and cursed but eventually gave us his blessing. We married and this December we will have been married 23 years. Peace be with you!!!
