I don't know what it is but I have this tick, I HATE light, as in sun light, I seal up EVERY window in my house so even in broad day light the house is completely dark, and I keep it below 60 degrees, or I cannot sleep, the only time I leave the house is after the sun has set. I have to have an even tan for work, my way around that is I purchased my own tanning bed I keep in my home. What is the deal with this? People that know me often make vampire remarks and such, and no I don't think I am one, or even think in that area. Also, if I go out in the afternoon, and there is still some light in the sky I wear sunglasses, and I have 5% tint on all of my cars.

I Get Up 6am Most Mornings, First Thing I Do Is Open Curtains And Blinds And Then Windows For Fresh Air! I Cant Stand Dark Houses Through The Day! If I Go To Work I Normally Finnish 5pm, When I Get Home I Close All The Windows And Curtains... The Only Time My Windows Are Completely Covered Are After Dark!

I like it really dark and cold when I am sleeping but when I am awake I like the light. Dark houses depress me.

sunlight is great as long as its not overwhealiming with glare and stuff.

yeah dark in the day time is jsut wierd too. it feels lifeless. colourless. (well, it is colourless in the dark and under artificial light)

The day lgiht is great unless yur trying to watch tv or look at computer and tehres glare ons creen, otherwise

bring in the sun!!

i remember it was hot and me and a friend were like 'damn the sun sucks.. then we got uber-stoned, and the rest of teh day we were all 'omg the sun! its so beautiful! how good is sun?'

but yeah, how is it not depressing being in a lifeless surrounding? cold, dark, its lifeless. its like your isolated. everything feels void of energy. and thats prolyl caus theres.. less energy.

I just don't like the fact of being in the light in general, its not a skin cancer scare or anything like that, I just don't like light.

hrmm...i think i may be able to sympathise with you...both the houses i lived in last year i rarely opened the curtains to let in the light. Pretty much the only times I did was when i had guests, and the college room I stay in at the moment...well I haven't opened the curtains at all.

Not sure exactly why but like you dreamweaver I much seem to prefer the cold and the dark. maybe there are more of us lurking out there (or in, as the case may be)...perhaps no one sees them much because they don't go out into the blinding light that often...

I am sure there are others, I don't see why we need to be clasified though, like there is something wrong with us, people that know me, make a big deal out of it, and are real shifty about it.

So you get the vampire comments too?

malachi
09-05-2004, 06:12 PM
not as such...haven't done so for a long time, maybe its the people I hang out with now, or perhaps a more accurate description would be the people I *don't* hang out with now.

Anyway I get 'zombie' comments more than 'vampire' ones.

I am curious if you have always hated sunlight or just as and adult? My son is thirteen and he has been saying he hates sunlight for a few years. I think he means it, not just saying it. I am concerned because sunlight is what's supposed to keep you from getting depressed. I don't sunbathe but I couldn't live in a place without sunshine.

I have never liked it, it always seems to make everything ugly to me. When I was in school, and we actually went outside I would either stay inside or in the shade out of the sun..... or just go home before it was time to actually go outside.

The light bill for this house is $200 a month, the one in LA is roughly $120 a month, its not much.

Thas a lot friend, I live in a place with cold winters, and it only costs maybe 125$ to heat the house with gas when the temp is 10 degrees outside.

Guess you don't get many visitors?
