i just grew a WEED plant, now what!? Need SIMPLE explanation.

I know this whole section is dedicated to this but everything I read sounds like its for people running an entire marijuana factory. I happened to have seeds so I just germinated and planted them for fun, not even thinking they would grow. Well they have.. and I must say they are beautiful. Ha. Anyway so some of the leaves have become yellow and fallen off. But the rest is green and nice and theres these weird leaves at the stem that appeared recently. The plants are both pretty big, around a foot and a 1/2 high. So how do I go about smoking it? I have no idea how to make it look like the pot you buy. Please as simple as possible!

rip it out by roots, let it dry upside down for 2 days trim the buds off and put the buds in air tight jars for a week

It sounds like it's just beginning to flower. Don't pull it yet, there's no pot to smoke. I hope it's not too late lol.
