During the times that psychedelics were legal in the United States many studies were done using them (Mushrooms, Ecstasy, Acid) in therapy sessions.
This was done in a variety of enviornments ranging from mental hospitals and prisons, to people who were already seeing a psychiatrist and studies were done on a wide range of "normal" people who had never taken the drug before.
Do you think there is a potential benefit when combining psychedelics and therapy?

yeah and i personally use most psychedelics as my own for of therapy. i just think that if they were legal and more controlled, then our country could definatly benefit from them by understanding the questions we all need answered.

i agree 100% i couldn't have said it better. there is always that group of stupid assholes that abuse a drug a die and make it illegal for everyone. if used in moderation it wouldn't be a problem.. i think E would be extreamly benificial in councling like it was before it got into the party scene. Read a book called "ACID DREAMS" LSD has potenial to do good as well. and well grass... thats just a great way to relax it help with asthma and cancer patients damn drugs can be awesome... allrighty im done ranting.. =)

Well magic mushrooms cured my fear disorder. It wasn't as much of a fear disorder as a phobia. I had hypochondria and was overly affraid of contageous disease, including common colds etc. It got so out of hand I didn't touch anything that belonged to public space.
Then one mushroom trip, I just realised I was holding back on the beauty of life because of it and suddently the fear just went. I even drank out of osmeone elses cup that day (asking ofcourse haha).. Now thats well over 1.5 years ago and I'm still cured, it never came back.
Also LSD made me a happier person in general, although I learned the most important thing already on shrooms before. I do not think it works for everyone though, there's likely enough people too instable for treatment with psychedelics.

those types of ideas used to be heaps popular in the 60,70s , but of course the goverments andmain stream health institutions we able to ban those practices and know its impossible to inititate such therapy movements...its a pity i reckon as some of the mental low-risk diseases might be cured or at leat understood much better (the sources of them in one's mind, childhood etc.), which in turn would allow better therpaies. lots of therapies nowadays dont get to the bottom of problems and i think psychedelic therapies would allow us to understand the problems much better before decidinh whats wrong
