I really didn't know where to put this, but I thought I'd give it a shot here. I really enjoy reading those quotes that are simple, but very deep...and kinda like..magical. A lot from the movie Tuck Everlasting, and also White Oleander. If anyone has any idea what I'm talking about could you share some? Thanks :-)

ex: "She was as out of place as a wildflower in a war zone."
"Her beauty was the tip of a very sharp knife."
"There is no man...only the moon"
"When will you learn that normal isn't a virtue?"
Thanks :-)

Think about these quotes from Face Down in the Sand and try to sleep at night.

"we mark our worth by the substances we injest"
"I feel ejected from my soul like a bullet from a revolver."
"Children are the only victims of an adult’s whim."

"Schools around the city are full of guns and drugs, the two principle cancers of our society and this is what children learn is god. Guns and Drugs are the only certainties anymore; this is the power that we define our status from. This city has desensitized us from the cries of our own children. There are no hopes and dreams anymore; life has become nothing more then one re-action to another."

"We have evolved into a nameless race of consumers. I live in a city of sand covered by concrete, what grows out here? Nothing, we consume but we don’t regenerate. We are a cancer, and although we have a window into that reality, we flip the channel to watch Sportscenter for the fifth time that day. "

Sorry, maybe I'm just a cynic; but this is the world I live. If you want more quotes you can find the story at http://www.facedowninthesand.com (http://www.facedowninthesand.com/)

Quotes, little inspiring or insigntful blurbs of scattered human thought left for the rest of us to ponder. What are your favorite, most inspiring, and thought provoking quotes? I have several, even come up with a few myself.

The quote in my sig is one of my favorites by Henry Van Dyke:
Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.

One of mine (was somewhat depressed when I wrote it):
We live, if only to make life more bearable for each other.

There was this guy who was just hilarious (and some made me feel better) but i cant remember his name... sorry.
They went somink like this:
- so intorable and ugly is fashion that we must replace it every 6 months...
- anyone who'd willingly go to a pschyatrist needs their head checked.

theres more but i cant remember...
