A little drunk, but still writing

First work posted here. Wrote it when I was pretty drunk. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We were walking down the street.
Soberly I knew we'd meet.
Calf high water everywhere
Barfoot was what we dared.

The radio show was hit too.
On and off and something new
On was news and a tune or few
Off it was just me and you

The Fishtank was where we met
To Chris and Jeff I owe this debt.
At beer pong was where first met eyes,
So beer pong was how I finished the night.

My hate for rain died that night.
My feelings I won't even fight.
Another place and another time
And you would not even be mine.
