Is peat moss good or bad additive to marijuana soil? I used it this year in about 33%peat, 66% soil mix, its purpose is to make the soil easier for the roots to grow through. My plants are pretty much thriving (7 ft. tall), but all along I have had fan leaves dying, I would say bout 30% of my nodes from vegging ended up dying. Granted, this has been a horrid growing season in the SE. Anyway, I ran into someone who said peat moss is acidic, but I was told by other peeps that it is one of the best soil additives, I hope someone can clear this up for me.

im assuming your talking about sphagnum peat moss, its the most common kind. You are right it is pretty acidic (3-5ph). Just get some of the finest dolomite lime you can find and mix that into the soil.......say 1 part peat moss to 1 part dolomite. It is a great way to retain water (something like 20-30 times its own weight) and loosen up the soil. Hope this helps.
