I couldn't get a job this summer because of some bitch girl working there. I went in and asked for the application and she wouldn't give it to me. I asked why and she said, "We don't hire freaks, go to the circus instead." I got really pissed and told her to fuck herself. Some guy (I think was the manager) came out of his office and told me to leave or he'd call the cops.
So I'm broke, no job, and probably won't be able to get a job there...ever. :(

^there's a picture in your sig too, i'm assuming it's you. and i would have told you to fuck off too. i like manson, and i don't give a shit what you listen to on your own time, but when you are trying to get a job the person doing the hiring doesn't know anything about you, so you need to make a decent first impression. which means making the effort to make yourself presentable to a potential employer. if you are too fucking lazy to even do that, then what is there to make this manager think that you aren't going to throw away your uniform and show up to deal with customers dressed in a way that would offend some of them? it's just common sense, if someone doesn't bother to try getting hired then they probably won't bother to do a good job either.


besides, it's not like this is the only place you could possibly work, there's probably other places that would hire a 14 year old, assuming you have a work permit. just don't go in there trying to start a fight and you might have a better chance of getting the job

You do need to look presentable when you go to apply for a job. Most people dont want to go to a store and see a chick with black hair, black clothes, and crazy make up. youd scare a lot of people away. (not that theres anything wrong with the way you look) But if the manager thinks your gonna scare customers away, he isnt gonna hire you. Next time, go up there with some normal, nice clothes, and less make-up.

I've had the same problems that you do now, and I wish there was something else I could say to comfort you, but the bitter truth is that by the end of the day these people own their companies, and therefore they can legally discreminate you based on your appearence. Don't take it as such a big loss, though. Knowing how these people are now, are you sure you would have liked to work there anyway?

For everyone's information that said I needed to look "presentable", I wore a pair of normal jeans, black/red T-shirt, didn't spike my hair, didn't wear as much eyeliner.

Unfortunatly most people here are right....bosses who hire people will judge you by the way you look when you go in for an interview. Alot of places don't consider jeans (even dressy black jeans) good enough for the work place.
My kids hated the fact that they had to wait till they were old enough to work somewhere...then of course both my son's first jobs were fast food places.
AFTER 1 son already had the job did he walk in dressed like Marilyn Manson....and yes, my son painted his face totally white with black lipstick & went to work in the kitchen of BK.
After he proved that he could run the kitchen by himself...everyone got used to it & knew that whatever he wore or music he listened to had no effect on the quality of his job. Actually he probably worked better when they let him just be him.

I havent seen your picture or anything, but if you are going to look out of the norm, people are going to look at you and think your "wierd". Unfortunatley people are not very accepting and if you dont conform to society's standards, people will look at you funny. Maybe your in a phase, maybe not. But you are who you are. I do think you should think about what you say before you say it though. I think you already know that though...

I stopped caring what people think more recently though. I realized the important people are already in my life and if I happen to meet a few that accept me for who I am then that makes it all the better. But you must realize your in high school or junior high and kids will be kids and pick on who they can to hide their insecurities and make themselves feel better. However if you are going to get a job you should care about what your employer thinks. I usually dress up for job interviews, black dress pants and a nice shirt.

My point is, you're being a little over-dramatic. Just because you were turned down at one place doesn't mean you're totally fucked in life. Just let it roll off your shoulder. It's better, anyway, that they blew you off immediately instead of hiring you and then being assholes later, right?
