have got some nice facts about the guy ( so called bagwhan, meaning god in sanskrit haha! not a small ego)
-was really hypnosis, as a kid and youngster, all his family and village coudnt stand the man, because would try to hypnotise everybody constantly!
-loved to try and control people, and experiment with them, very coldblooded, no empathy really, make experiments with groups of people and see how far he could control and brainwash them. Strong fasination but no feelings towards them
-obsessed with death, would go to see people die, as often as he could, was like hobby in his youth he said, and saw that every male (human or animal)that died, ejaculated at the moment of death, and thinking that also females had orgasms (but not visible) and therefor >connexion death/sex
(reading suchan interesting book!)

I liked the Bhagwan quite alot. Was never a follower, but I used to watch him on TV here. About 6am, he had a program in one of the local channels. This is back when he had that ranch in Oregon.

His book, "The Mustard Seed" is excellent reading. Especially for Christians as he gives his views on the bible.

He was an enlightened man, but his followers pulled him down to their level and he crashed and burned.

His discourses and books are brilliant , and he clearly has made a positive impact on the spiritual, intellectual and cultural literacy of the world.

Sure he did, mate. Nicely said. And what's that anime character you have on your avatar? Is that Naruto?
Thank you. The avatar is Samurai X.

You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.

---BuddhaNiranjan, please direct me to where you found this quote ...

There are over 5000 teachings by Buddha, or so I've been told by the Abbot of the temple I am at, and not one that I have read has Buddha ever mentioned the word "Love". I'm almost positive that if he did it would be to identify the amount of craving one has for forms, feelings, perceptions, fabrications and consciousness ...

Just curious ...

Supposedly many (monks) would spend time(s) reflecting and meditating on death. So why is that weird?

As far as ejaculating goes, I hear that when people die they come, they piss, they fart, they shit, they burp, they sneeze, they cough, they throw up, all at the same time.

i think he was an amazing person, but maybe not exactly as PURE as we wish he was.... people who spent years near him have said that he did have some amazing powers, and was telepatic.... but he he did not always use his powers in a good way, ok sure you could blame the evil people around him (Sheela for instance) who made him weak and greedy (remember the 93 rolls royces in oregon, "The BIG MUDDY"?)....
the fact is, there were some really nasty things going on in the end, in oregon:

censurship (sanyansins not allowed to go out of the ranch, letters opened to see that no critics get out of the ranch, controlled telephoned calls to the outside= they would listen to all your calls)

the salmonella scandal: 700 people contaminated at a a salad bar, because of some osho people sprinkling salmonella on the sallad, (this was a test action to see if it woud work to make people sick in this way, because bagwan wanted to win the elections and to make sure that his opponents would loose, he would make many voters sick on election day, but this election thing never happened)

they took loads of homeless people from other states, giving them shelter and food, in return they would have to vote for them.... the problem was, there was a lot instable people amongst those homeless, junkies, alcoholics, and there was a lot of dangerous, and aggresive reactions from them, making them really dangerous ... SO... it was decided that some valium like chemical would be mixed in the mached potatoes etc.... to keep them calm.... (they didnt know of course )
the whole thing turn to a catastrophe, some homeless nearly died......

drug runs were made by some members to bring lots of cash to the movement: kind of a mafia way, dont you think?

In the end of his stay in oregon, bagwan, who had stopped since quite a while givin lectures (as he did in Pune), just hid from everybody, he lived in total seclusion in his luxury appartments looking all day at videos, this was his new passion. His was a big reader all his life, but in oregon he stopped reading and stopped meeting people....actualluy, he had become a total different person. a person that had know him for 10 yrs saw a glimpse of him, by accident, and was so shocked! he was just like an empty shell.....

yes there was greediness, from quite a lot of people in the osho movement, including bagwan---- they would give extasy ( the drug) while having meetings with wealthy people who could be ready to make a donation (the drug would make them less critical)

people would have to work for 12, 14 , 16 hours in hard, cold conditions in oregon, it was a totalitarian work camp in a way, and in some periods people not allowed to get out of the ranch for phone calls and sending letters.....

bagwan was kind of a genius, specially in pune, amazing speeches....
BUT! the whole osho movement was really very much money oriented, and they actually wanted to reach people WITH A LOT OF MONEY: this is a sad fact. when you mix spirituality and money, you get a very decandent vibe, and that is what happened.

maney stinks, we need it, unfortunately, but the day anybady stats to SELL OUT, the universe will turn against you.... even towards bagwan....

And some say that the real OSho was killed and a look-alike took his place. His before and after pictures tend to give some credence to that theory.

Once Osho was asked a question. He recessed and when he came back he said that it no longer made any difference. Something happened and his consciousness changed, imo. Just look at our own lives, where some moment comes and we change.

Was Osho merely Enlightened or was he Self-Realised? He gave indications that he was self-realised. If so, how could be hope to understand his mind and actions? If he was merely Enlightened then he could have lost his Enlightenment, as supposedly others have, like Nietzche.

Hello dear brothers & sisters...

I was just listening to a delightful Osho talk, and such a funny thing happened (as they often seem to do around these figures )
I made a small clip of it,

for your enjoyment...

ok, he was good in pune, but it you look at the facts, he totally got messed up later in oregon. why is it a crime to look with clarity when it comes to gurus, why do we always looŽk to the the positive sides, maybe the guy was not that good after all, yes he was a genius in india but why censor reality and LIE to ourselves and to others about his WHOLE life and personality.

His life is his, take what you will from what he gave you, good bad or ugly, there is no reason to judge him, is that your purpose while you are here, to judge another being up to some idea of perfection that you your self have manifested?

There is a saying that, "no good tree bears bad fruit."

Everywhere Osho went he was involved in violence, hurtfulness, greed and corruption.

People will argue that that's because he was a revolutionary. Funny that so many others have changed the world (Martin Luther King for example), overcoming violence against them, and never being involved in scandal. Another way of saying this is "like attracts like." Impure teacher will attract impure and corrupted students.

It's hard to say, but the Truth is in the eyes. Looking into Osho's eyes, I don't light- I see emptiness.

I'd take anything Osho says as an interesting exposition to be considered, but certainly not automatically Truth.
